the two strangers
TRANSCRIPT
A story about a teenage lesbian girl struggling with her sexuality
As a lesbian female: I can shed a little light on some of the problems that gays and lesbians face.
The struggle between religion and who they are
Searching for acceptance
Especially for gay & lesbian teenagers, the fear of coming out to their parents.
Some are able to cope, but there are others who aren't that lucky.
ARTIST STATEMENT
TARGET AUDIENCE
My name is Erica Monique Acklin.
Born in Newark, New Jersey in 1976.
Raised most of my life by my grandparents, Annie & John Chalmers. I identify as a lesbian.
When I came out to my grandparents, I was 12 years old. I was one of the lucky ones, because my grandparents accepted me for who I was
and my friends didn't care either. When it came to my mother, it was a horse of a different color.
I am now 33 years of age, married to my life partner and currently living in Atlanta, GA.

The movies we like most, are about characters to whom we can relate to.
The protagonist in my story is a lesbian who's constantly having to overcome obstacles.
But rather then deal with them she chooses to take her own life.
The Two StrangersCopyright 2009 by Erica M. Acklin
Have you ever had feelings for someone you could not have? Fantasized about someone unexpected? Was it someone of the same sex? Did you ever get the courage to approach them? Does anyone know about these feelings? Did they approve? How did you cope?
Don't make the mistake of thinking this story is just about a lesbian girl who finds herself attracted to an older woman
NO! This story is about struggling with sexuality and searching for love and acceptance.
The reason why I came up with the title “The Two Strangers” Because of the interaction between the two women who are strangers to each other Because the girl is a stranger to herself and to her mother.
Clues are given throughout the movie about this double entendre. Please enjoy!
