Megan Olson to begin new chapter
Following 12 years at the helm of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, Megan Olson, President and CEO, has announced her resignation.
Olson, a native and resident of Watertown, SD, has served as the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO since 2005.
She has accepted a position as President and CEO of the Independent Community Bankers of South Dakota (ICBSD). Olson will remain a resident of Watertown.
“The decision to submit my resignation has not been an easy one, but after much deliberation I’ve decided that it’s time for me to start a new chapter,” said Olson.
“I’m extremely proud of the work our team has done on behalf of Watertown’s business community and I will continue to champion the cause. I will be forever grateful for my time with the Chamber of Commerce,” she said.
“The experience I’ve gained has been priceless but more importantly the friendships I’ve gained are immeasurable,” she added.
We wish you all the best, Megan!
Cookin' on KampeskaCookin’ on Kampeska 2017 is “in the books,” and truly offered something for everyone who attended the two-day event at Stokes-Thomas City Park!
We hosted a record-setting 48 teams in this year's KCBS BBQ Competition! Throughout the event, more than 100 volunteers helped -- from set up and working the admission gates, to tending the beer tent and serving during the People’s Choice BBQ tasting! Thanks to each and every one of you -- we couldn’t have done it without you!
Our Corks & Kegs event, featuring regional craft beer, wine and spirits, drew an amazing crowd on the Lake Kampeska boardwalk Friday evening. (Above right) Glacial Lakes Distillery captured the People's Choice Award for the second year.
The Burger Battle on Friday and Kids’ Que on Saturday were both fun and successful events! The Little Miss & Mister Kampeska Pageant, volleyball and bean bag tournaments all brought great numbers of participants.
Below: Fergolicious BBQ of Gardner, KS took home top honors!
