From the Office: Praise God for Mr. Postma's surgery: We are thankful for the good news that Mr. Postma's surgery went well. Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers as he recovers. Supporters' Chapel: The Grade 6-8 class will lead our chapel on Friday, February 17. We invite all supporters and interested supporters to join us for this time of praise and worship to our God. Invitations are available in the office. Kindergarten Camp: We will be running Kindergarten Camp, a Kindergarten Readiness Program, for children turning 4 in 2017. This program will run every Tuesday morning during the month of April. If you know of any family that might want to register, please pick up an invitation from the office. Thanks for helping us spread the news! The grade 6-8 class is attending a basketball tournament this Friday, which means our winter electives will not be taking place on Friday. They will instead be happening Monday, February 13 from 2-3:30pm. Mission – TCS is an independent elementary school that educates children

Our annual TCS Bazaar will be held on March 25 at Matilda Hall in Dixon’s Corners from 10-2. Please mark it on your calendars and spread the word. Parent Prayer Group: Our parent prayer group will be meeting Mondays at 9am in the library, starting this coming Monday, February 13. Please consider joining us. Everyone is welcome, including young children. Choosing a high school? Learn how Redeemer Christian High School can provide your teen with a solid foundation. Spelling: Unit 19.

Literature: Maniac Magee Vocabulary and Questions due Wednesday. Read Chapters 12-15.

Writing: Gr. 6 – Ch. 1&2 summary edits due Thursday.

Gr. 7/8 – speech edits due Thursday and time your

speech.

Math: Grade 6 – We are working on patterning and

algebra. We will have a quiz on Thursday. Grade 7/8

– Our flooring projects will be due on Wednesday.

Music: We will be practicing for the Supporters Chapel next week.

Gym: We are preparing for the tournament on Friday. If you can drive, please let me know. We

need one more driver. I will forward details to all drivers. Thanks.

History: We begin our new unit on "The Reformation" tomorrow. Renaissance Fair rubrics and

marks will be returned on Wednesday.

Bible: See Google Classroom for memory work and assignment details.

French: Gr. 6 – quiz on les infinitifs Wednesday

Gr. 7/8 – quiz on Future Proche Wednesday.

Memory Work: Psalm 23:1-2 due on Friday.

Spelling: Lesson 18 (review words) due on Friday.

Math: Data management test on Thursday.

French: We will begin our new unit Les Animaux du Bayou.

Memory Work: (due Friday) We are beginning to learn the Lord's Prayer together as a class.

Our Memory Work for this week will be the next couple of lines (the ones in bold): "Our Father in

heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in

heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin

against us."

Spelling: (test on Friday) Lesson 19 this week. Grade One is studying the "ay" sound, and

Grade Two is studying the "er" sound. Words can be found in student agendas. The list of the

next 6 weeks of spelling words is going home today as well.

Creation Studies: (quiz on Thursday) We will

be having a little quiz on the provinces and

territories of Canada. Students will be given the

names of the provinces/territories and will have

to place them on the correct place on the map.

Blank maps will be going home today to help

practice!

French: We have started our new unit on Le Petit Chat Cherche une Famille.

Show and Tell: Our new round of Show and Tell is with rhyming activities. The students take home a bag with some rhyming activities. Also, they can take in any item them want to show us. There is a book with a page for everyone to fill out. They will need to write the beginning sound and what it rhymes with. Instructions and examples are provided :) Students with show and tell this week are: Elijah (Monday), Jaelyn (Wednesday) and Arabel (Friday). Next week it will be: Brielle (Monday) and Bennett (Friday). Chapel at Redeemer Christian High School: Next week Wednesday, February 15 we will be heading to Ottawa to share our chapel at RCHS. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to drive and help chaperone. We are set to go. We will leave the school right at 9 and will be back by the end of the school day. After presenting our chapel we will be going tobogganing so, if possible, please send along a toboggan with your child. The students will also need to bring their lunch along as we will eat at the school after our chapel. We look forward to a wonderful day together.

Valentine's Day: We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Monday, February 13. We will send a list home of all the students to help your child with their Valentine's cards. In case you lose the list here are the students in the class: Jaelyn, Addison, Allison, Hailey, Evan, Elijah, Bennett, Ben, Arabel, Alie, Brielle, Emma, Mackenzie, Nikkolas and Jackson.
