• Solid-The state of matter that has a definite volume and shape. The molecules move slow and stay in a square shape. They vibrate when they move.

Liquid (cont.)

• There are Two properties in the liquid matter

• 1.Surface Tension-the force that act on particles on the surface

• 2.viscosity- A liquid resistance to flow

• Did you Know that a single helium tank can fill about 700 balloons .The reason that the tank can do that is

because its under pressure

Gases

• Gas-the state of Matter that has no definite shape or volume. The molecules in the gas move so quickly and stay far apart. The amount of space between the Gas can change.

• There are two kinds of solids.

Crystalline and Amorphous solids

Boyle’s Law

• Boyle’s law-As the pressure of a gas increases, the volume decreases by the same amount

Charles Law

• Charles Law-the volume of a gas changes the same when the temperature of the gas changes.

• Sublimation-the state in which the solid is immediately changed to gas.

• It occurs when something very cold is put in a very warm temp.
