Dear GRMA Guest,

Welcome to the 13th Annual GRMA Executive Leadership Forum.

We are looking forward to spending the next couple of days with you exploring

the shared opportunities and challenges that our brands and organizations face.

We encourage you to use this time to connect with your peers, impart your views

and discuss the ideas that you will hear from some of the world’s foremost

thinkers on leadership, brands, customers, and the future.

As the pace of change continues, there is an undeniable need to “re-imagine”

almost everything—the way we think, the way our customers behave, the way we

go to market, and the way we influence our organizations. If we fail to re-imagine

our leadership and/or our businesses, it is very likely someone else will do it for us

or at the very least we will leave growth on the table.

We will hear from CEOs who have innovated from outside their industry and from

those who have done so from within. World-renowned thought-leaders will inspire

us to open our minds and see the possibilities that disruption brings. Our peers,

will give us real world examples of how they are competing and winning in their

industries, right now. And, we will come together in roundtable discussions to share

best practices and experiences from our nearly 2000 years of collective leadership.

All of this will combine to help us see more clearly the opportunities that lie ahead

and inspire us to take personal and professional action.

If this is your first time, you will quickly learn that GRMA is an open, collaborative

community; a safe, intimate place where you are encouraged to share. Our entire

event is built around creating stimulating dialogue and unique opportunities to

network and build relationships. We encourage you to take a few minutes to review

your information packet. It will help you make the most of your brief time here

with us at the GRMA. Check out our roster of colleagues and solution providers to

optimize your connections during breaks and social events. Plus, be sure to look

over your Program Guide and come prepared with questions for each session, we

always create time for our world-class speakers to address the things that are on

your mind.

Finally, enjoy your GRMA welcome beach bag complete with small tokens of

appreciation from our sponsors. We know that you are very busy and that your

time is precious. We thank you for making the GRMA Executive Leadership Forum

a can’t miss event, and we promise to make the most out of every second you

spend here with us at the Don Cesar.

Once again, welcome to the GRMA.

Warm regards,

WELCOME TO THE 13TH ANNUAL EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP FORUM

Leadership from the top, Literally!Unleash your potential in today’s competitive business environment with unconventional leadership concepts that the MBA experience and corporate America can’t – and won’t – teach you from Alison Levine.

Alison served as team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition, climbed the Seven Summits and skied to the North and South Poles. A history-making adventurer who also spent time in the business world, she has survived sub-zero temperatures, hurricane-force winds and sudden avalanches – and that was while climbing the corporate ladder!

In her New York Times best-selling book, “On the Edge: Leadership Lessons from Everest and Other Extreme Environments,” Alison asserts that the principles that apply to the world of extreme adventure also apply to demanding business environments. A former part-time faculty member at West Point, Alison understands what it takes to lead teams through challenging situations.

On stage, she uses stunning imagery from her various expeditions to demonstrate how progress can be made going backward, why egos are a good thing, and how complacency can kill you. One of today’s most in-demand speakers, she inspires audiences to push themselves further than they ever thought possible.

Unveiling the Invisible...How our hidden behaviors are becoming the most valuable commodity of the 21st Century. How will intelligent technologies reshape society, industry and our behaviors. Artificial intelligence has the ability to peer into the invisible patterns in all of our behaviors to develop an intimate understanding of what drives, us, where we see value, and how we want to experience the world. How will this help us, how will this hurt us? Technologies will solve some of the most complex problems in society and business such as climate change and the radicalization of work flow processes. But it can also be used in the most subliminal and manipulative way to influence and shape our behaviors playing on our strengths and weaknesses.

Professor, Researcher and Futurist, Tom Koulopoulos, Author of Unveiling the

Invisible, weighs the risks and the benefits of intelligent technologies in this digital age and what business leaders should be contemplating as we seek to micro-target our customers.

CEO Perspective – Lessons on Industry Disruption Disruption is rampant in the retail, hospitality and, to a slightly lesser extent, the restaurant industry. Philip Krim and Jesse Horwitz will discuss why disruption is happening, why they feel legacy brands struggle to keep up, and what you can do to better prepare your brand to compete and/or partner with disruptors. They both come with unique backgrounds and experiences from outside the industries they are disrupting, but they share a laser focus on what the customer wants and needs from their respective brands.

Philip Krim is CEO and Co-Founder of Casper and leads their comprehensive business strategy, expansion, and vision for the future. He drives Casper’s goal of becoming the first end-to-end sleep brand while re-imagining the sleep industry from the ground up.

Jesse Horwitz is Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Hubble, a direct-to-consumer, subscription contact lens company that is taking the industry by storm becoming one of the fastest growing, direct-to-consumer e-commerce companies in the U.S. Jesse focuses his efforts on business development, fundraising, and regulation compliance. He also earned a spot on Forbes’ prestigious “30 Under 30” list in 2016.

FRIDAY MAY 18

A “Brand” New Playbook In just twenty years, the world of corporate communications has been completely upended. With paid and earned media evolving into shared and social, the boundaries between advertising, public relations, and marketing are becoming hopelessly blurred. Forward-thinking managers need a new brand playbook for this new age of media, and that’s exactly what our next speaker has been developing for the past twenty years.

Besides inventing netnography and pioneering videography as a market research method, he has authored and co-authored over 100 pieces of research on the intersection of technology, media, and consumers. This includes four books. On the industry side, he has extensive speaking, training, and consulting experience with a range of global companies and organizations, including American Express, Merck, Sony, Nissan, HSBC, TD Banking and Financial Group, eBay, Campbell Soup, L’Oréal, Zurich Insurance, and Loew’s. He holds the Hufschmid Chair of Strategic Public Relations and Business Communication at the University of Southern California’s Marshall and Annenberg Schools.
