The theater of Taormina

ENGLISH : The ancient theater of Taormina is situated in Sicily. Is built for the most part of brick, probably made in Roman date. This theater has a diameter of 120 metres and it is frequently used for operatic and theatrical performances and for concerts.

ITALIAN : L’antico teatro di Taormina è situato in Sicilia. E’ costruito per la maggior parte da mattoni, probabilmente fatto in epoca romana. Questo teatro ha un diametro di 120 metri ed è usato frequentemente per spettacoli lirici e teatrali e per i concerti.

ENGLISH : The greater part of the original seats have disappeared but the wall is preserved. This theater has as background the Mar Ionio and Etna. The auditorium is divided into nine sectors and surrounded by galleries and columns of marble. ITALIAN : La maggior parte delle sedie/sedili è scomparsa ma il muro è conservato. Questo teatro ha come sfondo il Mar Ionio e l’Etna. La cavea è divisa in 9 settori ed è circondata da gallerie e colonne fatte di marmo.
