I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and welcomed in the New Year with the hope of a better and brighter future for all.

Our Lodge was beautifully decorated by our Elkettes with the help of a few Elks. A special thanks to everyone who celebrated Christmas and New Years at the Lodge.

During the month of January, the Lodge Secretary’s office will be mailing the annual dues notices. Dues may be paid by cash, check or credit card and must be paid prior to April 1, 2014. Please pick up your new card if at all possible to save mailing costs.

At the February 4 Lodge meeting, nominations for Lodge Officers for the 2014/2015 year will be made in accordance with Section 3.080 of the Elks Statutes. The order of nominations is Exalted Ruler, Lecturing Knight, Loyal Knight, Leading Knight, Lodge Sec-retary, Lodge Treasurer, Tiler and five year Trustee. The annual elections will be held at the February 18 Lodge meeting. The installation of officers and inaugural dinner will be held March 30, 2014. Any member wishing to become a Lodge Officer may discuss it

with me and should consider Lecturing Knight or Tiler. Either of those positions are a good starting point to begin working up in the chairs.

On April 5, 2014, the Corporation officers will have their election. If you are interested in a position on the Corporation Board, please submit your resume in February. The success of the Corporation is essential to the success of the Lodge.

Hopefully, it will be a healthy

year for all of us. The Silent

Auction/Style Show went very

well, thanks to all who helped;

Elks and Elkettes. A special

thanks to Janice MacKenzie

who worked so hard putting it

all together. Great job! Thanks

to the Bell Ringers and those

who decorated the Lodge.

Thanks to all who worked the

Christmas Breakfast. Thank you

Carol Naken for chairing it.

Coming up next we have our “Willie Nelson” fund-

raiser. See the advertisement below. Don’t forget the

Wine and Cheese Tasting Party on February 9, 2014.
