I wanted to shout out to our members for all their
hard work and efforts with volunteering their time to help
out fellow Elks and residents of Eureka and Pacific by
serving, delivering food and getting into the trenches to
help clean up Eureka after the floods. I am very proud of
our Elks Lodge and the City of Eureka!
Chicken Chit was held on January 30th and if you
haven’t been to this event, you’ve never seen anything like
it! All funds raised go to our Scholarships! A big thanks to
Jeff and Brenda Wilsey for starting this event and to all
those who volunteered to make it a huge success!
February is a busy month! Our State President will
be visiting our Lodge on Saturday the 6th from 2:00-5:00.
Please take a moment to stop by and say hello, have a
drink with him and tell him how great our Lodge is! The
7th is Super Bowl Sunday at 3:30, Barb Soetebier is in
charge again this year, kickoff is at 5:30, see enclosed flyer
for more information. The 13th is the PER Valentine’s Day
dinner; $20.00 per person. Mardi Gras is the 27th; doors
open at 4:00pm at the DeSoto Lodge. Tickets are $10.00
($15.00-door). See our bartenders about tickets.
Remember to reach out to those new members
and remind them of everything going on at our Lodge.
Have them volunteer for 30 minutes or an hour just to
see what we do and how well we do it; they will be
hooked!
Thank you again for all your support!
Thank you,
Sincerely, Lisa Cushing

Community Response
The flooding brought devastation and heartbreak to many, the new year was off to a miserable start.
However, the response from the community has brought much needed help and hope.
We cannot begin to thank all the first responders, local officials, residents, businesses, and organiza-
tions who came together and wrapped their collective arms around those in need, your response has
been overwhelming and heartwarming!
The Eureka-Pacific Elks are happy to have been a part of the overall response and
we are extremely proud of the heart of this community!
