Epsilon Psi Chapter News

Hello Alumnae Sisters!

The ladies of Epsilon Psi are back on campus and ready for a great fall semester! With classes starting and Welcome Week events happening all around campus, the chapter is staying busy and getting ready for Formal Recruitment!

August 21st and 22nd were our Back to School Recruitment Reviews! We spent those two days focusing on all things recruitment, while also enjoying the company of our sisters after a summer apart! All of our sisters have been attending Welcome Week events including Greek Treats where we enjoyed talking to potential new members and having ice cream on a hot night! We also have Polish Day coming up on September 6th and are excited to practice for recruitment with some of our alumnae!

Overall, Formal Recruitment, which begins September 12th, is the main focus for Epsilon Psi. We can't wait for a new fall class of sisters to introduce to our wonderful alumnae soon! Hope to see you all soon! Loyally, Caroline Ferguson Epsilon Psi Chapter President

Epsilon Phi Chapter News Hello Alumnae!

The women of Epsilon Phi started back to school on August 25th and are now hard at work focusing on our Formal Recruitment coming up September 5th-7th. This past couple of weeks has been a whirlwind of recruitment fun and catching up after our summer break! August 18th-22nd we had our Polish Week to get ready for Formal Recruitment and were able to have theme days! We also had different events during that week to help welcome the new freshmen to campus such as the Greek Showcase where we performed a skit and dance, the Block Party where we advertised NPC as a whole, and several Organizational Fairs! On August 24th our officers got together to meet all of the new advisors and discuss our upcoming semester and all of our events! The chapter is so pumped going into Formal Recruitment and can’t wait to welcome new faces into our sisterhood! We look forward to our many events this semester and can’t wait to introduce our new members to our amazing alumnae. We hope to see you all at our upcoming alumnae event, details will come soon!

Thank you, Bailey Greenslade Epsilon Phi Chapter President

Philanthropy Report - September 2014

“To welcome the opportunity of contributing to the world's work in the community where I am placed because of the joy of service thereby

bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied.”

Philanthropy is a major focus for the DAC this year! We are looking forward to fundraising and volunteering to help the community in which we are placed! Our first fundraiser is the online sales of flower bulbs through Dutch Mill Bulbs. Our sisters who planted their bulbs last year had great success growing beautiful daffodils, irises, and tulips! Please follow the link below to purchase your own. Don’t forget to share the link with family and friends!

http://groups.dutchmillbulbs.com/alphagammadeltadallasalumnaechapter.php

We are also trying some new fundraising this year. We are going to hold a garage sale online through through the Ebay store of Philanthropy officer Mia Blocker. We need donations of clothes and shoes. If you all have items, feel free to contact Mia through Facebook or call her at 214-686-6814. She is happy to pick up donations or arrange a drop off. Donations of time are also appreciated to help organize and list donations as well.

Finally, we will be participating in the JDRF One Walk at Victory Park in Dallas, TX. The walk is on Saturday, September 27th and check in begins at 7:30am. How wonderful would it be to not only raise money for a wonderful cause, but also spend time staying healthy with our sisters! Please use the following link to join our team! If you are unable to walk, a donation of money would be greatly appreciated to help us reach our goal!

From the Foundation Being There for One Another

July’s International Convention in Indianapolis was a great reminder of all the things that make Alpha Gamma Delta such an amazing organization:

We are multi-generational – encouraging women of all generations to come together as sisters and work for the betterment of women

We are global – alumnae from all over the world coming together to share perspectives and insight

We are progressive – taking the lead on women’s education and advocacy We are there for one another!

The Foundation takes great pride in supporting the values, goals and philanthropic work of Alpha Gamma Delta. With the help of our alumnae, during the past year, we were able to award more than $581,000 in scholarships, grants, philanthropic support, leadership training and educational programming - all examples of Alpha Gams being there for one another in so many powerful ways. The need we see in our scholarship, SIS grant and Diabetes Education & Awareness grant applications increases every year. We hope you’ll join us in being there for our sisters this year.
