Pres Sez!We mixed the agenda up last week and US Congresswoman, Kyrsten Sinema (who represents District 9 in Arizona), led off and shared her personal story with us and advised us what she’s been doing in Congress during her first term. Prior to her comments, she honored our own Park Shaw with a flag that had been flown over the US Capitol for his service and devotion to our country. Congrats Park!! Our own Arizona historian, Matt Dana, explained how the city of Snowflake, AZ got its name. We converted two members’ badges from Red to Blue. Congrats to Claudia Arnold-Sawaf and John Campbell!!""Our annual golf event is scheduled for October 6th at McCormick Ranch Golf Club and Chair Ken Brown is looking for teams/players, silent auction items and tee sign sponsors for the event. Today!Our speaker today is Commissioner Susan Bitter Smith from the Arizona Corporation Commission. She was elected to a four year term starting in January 2013. Susan is a member of the National Association of Regulatory Commissioners, currently serving on NARUC's Water Committee and as President-Elect of the Western region. Her list of accomplishments is extensive. Of note, she is a native of Arizona; has served as a member of the Scottsdale City Council; and was Vice Mayor.
