First a dramatic pool, now a newfront office to welcome our guests.Greeting winter season guests this year was a new

front office, featuring an exterior resembling a

modern villa. As GM Steve Wright says, “The com-

pletely redesigned interior is more user-friendly. It

is not only a workplace, but a gallery as well.” It

speeds guests through registration faster and on to

their rooms and beach and in time for happy hour.

Aiding the process are friendly entry steps and a ramp.

Guests will first experience their “home away

from home” by passing through the entrance gate

and walls, which, accentuated by exterior terracing,

adds to the “villa” effect.

The new Front Office complements the intro-

duction last year of the dramatic hill-top swimming

pool and its beautiful view of the Caribbean, the

beach (petite plage), Creole Rock and Anguilla.

Fifth Night Free

This money-saving offer kicks in on June 1, when guests staying at

least five nights get the final night free. Available through October 31,

2017, it applies to all rate categories, but only for new bookings. It is

not available for groups or in conjunction with any other promotions.

To be eligible, guests must book by April 30 for stays through August

31, 2017. Or make your reservations for September or October with no

booking deadline. Pack your bag and come on down to paradise. •

Diving Shipwreck Reefs

Scuba diving is getting more attention because

of our unique sites, which include the HMS

Proselyte, an 1801 vessel encrusted in coral;

the Carib Cargo, a 70-foot ship and Gregory

II, an upside down barge. They complement

a visit to the Maze, a series of beautiful

reefs; and Hens & Chicks, which resembles

a moonscape. The Watersports Center can

arrange dives for all skill levels. •

The “Golden Apple,” an award presented by Apple Vacations, is the latest in a series won by the Grand Case

Beach Club. The award, won many times by the resort, cites outstanding service, hospitality and pristine

conditions. Others include Booking.com, a 9.0 rating out of a possible 10; Hotels.com, which

rated the resort 4.5 out of a possible 5; Caribbean Journal; Fox News; Expedia’s Select List,

which includes the resort in about 650 of its 150,000 world-wide programs; Travelocity,

Caribbean Travel & Life, and many others, including TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence

Hall of Fame, awarded only to those who have earned it five times. •

Within walking distance (OK, taxis are available if

you want) is Grand Case village, the culinary capi-

tal of the island. A big hit with guests are L’Auberge

Gourmand, Ti Provençal, Taste A Vin, Bistrot,

Caraibes, Spiga, Ocean 22, and the newer ones, Le

Temps des Cerises, and La Petite Table.

And of course the Grand Case Beach Club’s

Sunset Cafe, the only restaurant on the island with

the Maitre Restaurateur award, is a major player. •

Touring Charming Marigot

A “must do” during your stay at the Grand Case Beach Club is a tour of Marigot, the capital of St. Martin,

especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays when the markets are open. Near the markets are open-air restau-

rants, and Le West Indies Shopping Mall with designer stores, a spa and more. Perched on a mountaintop

overlooking the city is Fort St. Louis, well worth a strenuous hike for the magnificent view. Porte La Royale,

with its colorful array of shops and restaurants surrounding the marina is also a nice destination. •
