The Fall Season by Laila Abulseoud
The Fall is here
The trees are colorful as I walk through the lake
I smell the fresh air
I hear the birds are singing overhead
The maple tree leaves turn red orange and yellow and are falling on the ground
I like the fall better than winter because the winter is cold and all of the sudden
everything turn white

My trip to Egypt by Zakariya Nassr
I went to Egypt by airplane this summer I went with my brother and my mom
and we stayed there for six weeks We visited Cairo Asyut and Alexandria and stayed
with our family
In Cairo we saw a mosque that was 750 years old It was at Muhammad Alirsquos
citadel We also rode horses and camels at the pyramids We got to go inside the kingrsquos
pyramid and we saw the Sphinx The weather was really hot so we had to keep drinking
freezing water to keep cool
We went to Asyut to visit our great grandmother who is our momsrsquo fathersrsquo mom
We were only able to go out at night because the weather was cooler at night and the sun
was too hot to go out during the day We sat by the Nile and had ice cream every night
We went to Alexandria with our cousins from Chicago We got there by train it
only took two hours We got to our hotel and changed into our swimsuits and went to the
beach We all got stung by jellyfish It really hurt The next day we were able to go to a
beach that did not have jellyfish and we had a lot more fun there We had dinner when it
got dark We had roasted corn from the street and my cousin and I were able to help the
man fan the fire
Everywhere on the streets people sold prickly pears and they were delicious I
also enjoyed drinking sugar cane juice and I would drink it every time I went out I had
a really fun time in Egypt but my favorite part was getting to see the pyramids while
riding a camel

Zip lining in Costa Rica by Ella Hopkins
When you go zip lining in Costa Rica you ride on a bus to the area where you go zip
lining You get a vest on and you walk up stairs and when you get to the top of the stairs
you reach the first zip line The first zip line I did with a guide After that I went on
some zip lines by myself The longest zip line was nearly 1 kilometer long There were
10 zip lines all of them were pretty long except the first and second You go over a
waterfall but you land on a platform of wood One time when my mom was on a zip line
and she screamed My favorite part was going on zip line number 10 why because it
was the longest zip line When we got to the last one I wanted to do them all again If
you ever get to go zip lining I would recommend it

Finding Nemo 3-D by Martin Gardner
From the people Behind A Bugrsquos Life Monsters Inc Wall-E and Brave comes Finding
Nemo
The story of the movie from the Cinemagic website begins like this
ldquoLife along the great Barrier Reef is full of dangers when you are a tiny clownfish
And for Marlin a single parent determined to protect his only son Nemo there are
constant fears and anxieties When on his 1st day of school Nemo defies his Father
and swims off alone to investigate a boat he is suddenly scooped up by a diver as
Marlin helplessly watches Marlin turns desperate as he frantically swims off in
search for his son As he passes a school of fish he bumps in to Dory an agreeable
blue tang with severe short term memory loss who offers to help Together this
aquatic odd couple set out on an impossible mission finding themselves in
troubled waters and contending with such hazards as sharks deadly anger fishes
and a forest of jellyfish Meanwhile in a dentistrsquos office overlooking Sydney
Harbor Nemo has landed in a fish tank that is home to a colorful group of
characters who want to initiate him into their gang ldquo
Sorry this Dory is not played by Ellen DeGeneres
I would not recommend it to real young children because there are some intense images I
would recommend it to five and older Dory makes the movie really funny and it has
fabulous smooth music by Thomas Newman
Other titles from the makers of Finding Nemo are
The Toy Story Trilogy- 1995 1999 and 2010
Cars Double Movie 2006 and 2011
Ratatouille 2007
Monsters INC 2001 (which I will be reviewing when it comes out in 3-D on December

Life Cycle of a Flower by Annika Lillegard
The life cycle of a flower begins with a seed in the ground Dependent on plenty
of light and water the seed grows roots if the temperature is favorable The roots absorb
water and nutrients from the soil and bring them to the rest of the flower As the flower
grows it develops stems and leaves above ground When the plant is mature it makes
blossoms (a process called flowering) Flowers are important for the plant to reproduce
Pollen is necessary to fertilize the flower to make seeds Insects and bees transfer pollen
from one flower to another The flower wilts over time releasing the seeds to the ground
or the wind to start the life cycle of a flower over again

At the farm I milked a cow I also saw a sheepdog rounding up sheep and I looked
at baby animals The baby animals I saw were sheep and cows I also looked at the old
farmhouse the adult bed was smaller than my twin bed After the farm I went to our hotel
to check in to our rooms
After resting at the hotel I went to see the penguin parade Small penguins walked
up the beach to their nests They looked so cute There were a lot of people at the penguin
parade it is a popular activity
The next day we went to the Koala Conservation Center We walked on raised
platforms to see the koalas My favorite part about the koala center was seeing a mom
and a baby koala together
On my trip to Phillip Island I did lots of new things
