    GREETINGS REUNION COUSINS

    FRIDAY NIGHT CHOICES

If you are meeting a cousin with whom you are well acquainted, most likely you will smile, shake hands, give a hug, a warm greeting and an enthusiastic welcome!

On meeting a complete stranger a person just might be inclined to take a second or two to run the face and your instant impression through your memory's computer.

On meeting a stranger, as one early Western writer wrote, "Delay the reaction long enough to decide whether to ask for a match or to draw steel."

Cousins, at this reunion we have so many proven reasons to make our greetings warm, genuine and permanent.

We have so much in common. We have inherited family standards of generosity, hard work, hospitality, optimism, honesty, reverence, industry, loyalty, justice, fair play, inquiring minds, and love for each other. Let's make this reunion a renewed awareness of our family legacy.

One of my favorite quotations is from the Bible, "What doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly, and to love mercy and to wal.k humbly with thy God." (Micah 6:8)

Hi cousin, it will truly be a joy to meet you and greet you!

    Emmert Studebaker

    TAKE A REUNION COOKIE BREAK

"Can I have a cookie, please?" ask generations of children bounding in the door after play. And for generations, nothers, aunts and cousins have shared their favorite cookie recipes

to the delight of the whole family.

When you come to the Studebaker reunion, please bring several dozen of your family's favorite homemade cookies. We'll put them in the hospitality tent to share with all the cousins.

You may bring your cookie recipe to display with your cookies, or maybe a family story about the origin of the cookies could be included. Please put all items together in a disposable box.

HELP WANTED FOR THE COOKIE BREAK PROJECT! We need a volunteer to stock the cookies and display recipes several times a day. Write to Sonia if you can help.

SONIA EWALD 4343 ST RT 202 TIPP CITY, OH 45371

Families with children, and anyone else, are invited to a hayride in the Sam Studebaker woods. We will circle the wagons at 7:00 p.m. for a ride down the lane and through the woods, ending at a campfire . (Marshmallow roast and camp songs.)

If it's a hot night the party will continue with a late night swim at Ewald's pool, just up the road from the homestead.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS: Guitarist, harmonmica player, camp song leader, and wagon chaperones.

Adults are invited to tour historic Quaker Hill, home of Dick and Sue Studebaker. Decorated with rare and unique antiques, Quaker Hill, built in 1797, is the oldest existing residence in Montgomery County, Dayton, OH. Visitors will be welcomed between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.

Light refreshments and great conversation are on tap! For a map on how to get to Dick and Sue's home just stop at the hospitality tent.

    SHARE YOUR HOME

    WITH A COUSIN

Cousins coming to the Studebaker Family National Reunion in July are asking, "Can we stay with a local cousin one or two nights?"

If you live within 10, 15 or 20 miles of Tipp City would you be willing to share your home with some of our cousins coming to the reunion?

The tradition of hospitality within the Studebaker family prompts this request.

Yes, there are motels, but how very pleasant it would be to meet and learn to know some of our new cousins.

Your response is needed as soon as you receive this newsletter. Write or call.
