The garage is converted into a small practice studio. Themain door is closed. DANNY WESTON, 22, is playing his guitarin front of his band members, FREDDY MITCHELL, 20 , and PAULBRADFORD, 23. He plays a complicated solo and ends it with a

flair of movement.

DANNYWhat did you think?

FREDDYIm blown away, man. That was likeif Jimmy Hendrix and Eddie VanHalen had a baby.

PAULHow could they have a baby? Theyreboth guys.

FREDDYThats not what I meant.

PAULI never know what the hell youretalking about.

DANNYI got it. Thanks, Freddy. When isJack getting here?

PAUL

He said hed be here when he getshere.

DANNYI wish he would hurry. Im anxiousto get something down today.

PAULWhats the rush?

DANNYThe rush? We put this band togethersix months ago and we only have twosongs finished. We need at leastanother ten before we have a fullalbum.

PAULYou need to learn to enjoy life.

Paul takes out a small metal pipe from his pocket and a smallplastic bag of marijuana. He opens the bag and starts to loadthe pipe.

DANNYYoure not going to light up now?

PAULWhat are you, my parole officer? Iplay better when Im stoned.

DANNYYou play like shit when yourestoned. You never keep tempo andyou go off into these drum soloswhenever you feel like it.

PAULIm trying to bring something new

to the music world.

DANNYA little discipline would be new.Why the hell did we start this ifyoure not going to take itseriously?

FREDDYI think you take it too seriously.

DANNYI just understand what it takes to

get ahead.

FREDDYI get head all the time.

DANNYYou know how many bands there areout there that have created somegreat music and no one has everheard it? You know why no one hasever heard it? Its because theyscrewed around and before they knewit, they had kids andresponsibilities that broke up theband. You guys want to fry yourbrains out, thats fine with me. Iwas hoping you could at least waituntil we had a first album cut.

The side door of the garage opens and JACK KELLER, 23,enters. He is carrying a brown paper bag.

DANNYAbout time you got here.

JACKIm twenty minutes late. Big deal.

DANNY

Alright. Lets get started. I wantto work on the that riff for thethird song.

JACKWhich one is that?

DANNYYou know.

Danny starts playing part of a song. While Danny is playing,Jack takes a twelve pack of beer out of the brown paper bag.He rips open the box and starts handing beer to Freddy and

Paul.

JACKHook me up with one of those.

PAULComing right up.

Danny stops playing.

DANNYYou remember....

Danny notices that no one was paying any attention to him asthey continue to drink beers and pass Pauls pipe around.

Danny looks very disappointed, but says nothing.

INT: DANNYS LIVING ROOM - DAY

Danny enters his house with his guitar secured in its case.He puts his guitar in the hallway closet and walks into themain living room. He smells something.

From a door on the left enters Dannys father, Dr. MARTINWESTON, 45. He is wearing a lab coat.

MARTINHey, Danny. How was practice?

DANNYIm not on a football team, Dad.

MARTINRehearsal?

DANNY

Thats a little better, but itwasnt much of anything.

Martin takes off his lab coat and slings it over a chair nextto the couch.

MARTINProblems?

DANNYMore like... Did you burn dinner orsomething?

MARTINI was doing some soldering in mywork room.

DANNYDid you finally fix the toaster?

MARTINThats still a work in progress.

DANNYWhy dont I go out and just buy anew one?

MARTINI can fix it. It tasks me and Ishall fix it.

DANNYIf you say so.

MARTINI hadnt started dinner yet. Isthere something you wanted tonight?

DANNYNothing really. Ill be happy with

a cheese burger as long as itdoesnt smell like your project.

MARTINI work with some of the mostsophisticated equipment on theplanet. I think I can still work abarbecue. Ill start cooking soon.Come on and have a seat.

Martin sits on a plush recliner as Danny sits on the couch.

DANNY

When I get a record contract, thefirst thing Im going to do is buyyou a new chair.

MARTINMe and this baby have watched a lotof games together.

DANNYMore like slept through them.

MARTINIts very relaxing. Now, whats

troubling you?

DANNYIts the guys in the band. I dontknow. They dont seem reallyinterested in getting anythingdone.

MARTINMaybe theyre having an off day.

DANNYMore like an off life. I dont knowhow to get them motivated to work.

MARTINI thought music was supposed to befun.

DANNYYeah, its fun when youre on stageplaying, but if you dont have anysongs to play, it sucks.

I thought you guy knew a lot ofsongs.

DANNYThose are just covers. I dont wantto play somebody elses music. Youcant be famous playing covers.

MARTINI see your point. Its a lot likescience. You always have to come upwith something new.

DANNYYoure not going to start thatagain?

DANNYThat crap about me going into musicand not following in yourfootsteps.

We had that talk a long time ago. Ihavent brought it since then.

DANNYI know, but sometimes I think youwant to.

MARTINMy dad wanted me to be a cobblerlike he was, but I didnt listen tohim either. You wanted to studymusic and I let you. Although I dosee that you approach music withthe same discipline that I use withmy work. You would have made agreat scientist.

MARTINIts all about teamwork. Ive hadyears of work go for naught becauseI wasnt teamed up with the rightpeople. Its all about chemistry.

MARTINEverything to me is a mathematicalprinciple.

MARTINEven music is partly based inmathematics. The vibration of thestrings, the tone of the notes,tempo, its all based onmathematical formulas.

Danny stands up.

DANNYI know youre right, but I justwished I knew why. Im going to getcleaned up for dinner. Have youfigured out how long its going totake you to cook up some burgers.

Martin pats his chest as if looking for something.

MARTINWheres my calculator?

Danny smiles at his father. Martin stands up.

MARTIN (CONTD)Although the probability is low, Ihope I helped you out a little.

Danny gives his father a hug.

MARTINNo problem.

Danny lets go of his dad and starts to head up the stairs.

MARTIN (CONTD)Your mother called.

DANNYYou talked to her?

MARTINI tried not to push it. She talked.I just listened. She wants you tocall her.

DANNYShes still pissed at you, huh?

MARTINCan you blame her? I broke hertrust in me. I think shes moreupset that you came to live with meinstead of her.

DANNYWhat was I going to do in Montana?

MARTINIts all my fault. Sometimes wenever stop paying for our mistakes.

DANNYWhy did you do it, Dad?

MARTINDoes it matter? I guess I thought Iwould be forgiven.

DANNYIf you could go back in time, wouldyou still do it?

MARTINThe trouble with 20/20 hindsight isthat it always comes too late. Itsthe future consequences that onenever takes into account.

Danny is sitting on his bed talking to his cell phone. He isdressed in his pajamas.

DANNYYes, Mom, Im taking care ofmyself. Dads doing fine. No heisnt seeing anyone. I think hereally misses you. You should comefor a visit. You seeing anybody?Give it time. You know, Ive havethis weird feeling that weve hadthis conversation before. Dejawhat? Oh. Okay. Im going to bednow. Ill talk to you soon. I loveyou, too.

Danny makes kissing noises into the phone and hangs up. Heputs his phone on a small night stand next to his bed. Hesits there and thinks for a moment before he turns off hislight on the same table and gets under the covers of his bed.

INT: DANNYS KITCHEN - MORNING

Danny enters the kitchen as Martin is finishing up cookingbreakfast in a large frying pan.

DANNYSmells good.

Martin turns off the heat as Danny sits down at the table.Martin brings over the frying pan and slides a large omeletteonto Dannys plate.

MARTINOne Western omelette.

MARTINIll have you know that aftertoday, our lives will be changed

forever.

DANNYThats quite a statement.

MARTINA few computer simulations here andthere and I will turn thescientific world on its ear.

DANNYA couple of pieces of toast wouldturn this breakfast on its ear.

Danny takes a bite of his breakfast.

MARTINThat one is still eluding me, butits the next best thing.

DANNYDo I get any clues?

MARTINIll be home early and well talkabout it over a celebratory dinner.

DANNYI dont know if I can stand thesuspense.

MARTINWhat are you doing today?

DANNYIm giving those guys one lastchance and if I cant get them tokeep their focus, Im going to cutthem loose and do what you said.Ill find a new band.

MARTINSounds like a big day for both ofus. Good luck with that.

Martin taps Danny on the shoulder.

Martin laughs and exits the kitchen. Danny goes back to hisbreakfast.

INT: MARTINS WORK ROOM - MORNING

Danny enters Martins makeshift lab. The room has a lot ofelectronic equipment lying around on a long table andMartins desk.

DANNYNow, lets see, where would Dadkeep his needle-nosed pliers?

Danny walks up a large standing cabinet and tries to open it.The cabinet is locked. Danny walks over to Martins desk andstarts to look through the drawers.

After moving some papers aside, he finds music sheets withnotes on them.

DANNY (CONTD)Dads writing music?

He takes them out of the desk and starts looking at them.

DANNY (CONTD)God, this is terrible.

Danny puts the sheet music back and closes the drawer. Hegoes over the long table. He looks at the toaster takenapart.

DANNY (CONTD)Youre not looking too well. Im

glad Dads not a brain surgeon.

He finds the pliers and grabs them. Danny exits the workroom.

INT: MARTINS WORK LABORATORY - DAY

Martin is watching his computer screen as a simulation is

taking place. He smiles as he watches. KAREN LARKIN, 21,walks up to Martin. She is carrying some files.

KARENHere are the computation youwanted, Dr. Weston.

MARTINThank you, Karen. How did they comeout?

KARENNot really sure why you wanted to

figure out these variables with theequations you wanted to implement,but all the numbers check out.

MARTINIll take a look at them in aminute. Thank you.

KARENYoure not going to tell me areyou?

MARTINI really would love to since youdid all that work, but I have tohave my little secrets.

KARENI understand.

They exchange smiles and Karen exits.

DR. THOMAS KRESSLY, 54, walks up to him. Martin, seeing theapproach of Dr. Kressly, hits the escape key on his keyboard.His computer screen goes blank.

DR. KRESSLYMartin, what are you looking so

happy about?

MARTINNothing.

Dr. Kressly looks over at Martins monitor.

DR. KRESSLYYou seemed highly engrossed inwhatever you were watching. Youwere on one of those... sitesthat..

MARTINThomas, come on. You know me betterthan that. I got an e-mail from myex-wife. I found it kind of funny.

DR. KRESSLYYou two arent getting backtogether again, are you?

MARTINNot anytime in the near future.

DR. KRESSLY

Ill need your outline on whatyoure going to present to ourboard members next week.

MARTINIll have it to you by the time Igo home tonight.

DR. KRESSLYI cant wait to see it. Theyvebeen a little edgy after the lastquarterly report and the stocks aredropping a little. You know how themoney guys are.

MARTINIm sure theyll be quite happywith the progress weve made on theBeta Project.

EXT: MARTINS WORK PARKING LOT - NIGHT

Karen walks out to her car after a long night at work. Shesees Martins car in the parking lot. She walks over to theleft side of Martins car and screams.

INT: GARAGE - NIGHT

Danny and his band members are really playing together.

DANNYThats the way!

They end their song. Danny has a big smile on his face.

DANNY (CONTD)Thats how I want to hear you guysplay.

PAUL

I thought it sounded great.

JACKJust ten more songs like that andwell have an album.

FREDDYWhats next.

Danny feels his cell phone vibrating in his pocket. He takeshis guitar off his shoulders and places it in its stand. Hedigs out his cell phone and answers it.

DANNYHello? Yes, this is Danny Weston.What? When did this happen? Ill beright there.

Danny closes his phone and sits down with a shocked look onhis place.

DANNYIt was the hospital. My dads beenshot.

INT: HOSPITAL - NIGHT

Danny rushes up to the hospital front desk. Freddy, Jack andPaul walk in behind him. A NURSE is at the reception desk.

DANNYMy name is Danny Weston. I got acall from you saying my fathersbeen shot.

NURSEWhat is his name?

DANNYMartin. Martin Weston.

NURSEOne moment.

The nurse picks up her phone and dials a number.

NURSE (CONTD)

Danny Weston is here asking abouthis father, Martin Weston. Illtell him.

The nurse hangs up the phone.

DANNYIs he okay?

NURSEThe doctor will be down to talk toyou.

DANNYBut is he alright?!

NURSEHell be right down. Just have aseat.

Danny turns away from the desk.

DANNYI cant get an answer. She said thedoc will be down to talk to me.

JACKCome on, man. Hell be fine.

DANNYIf was fine, why couldnt she tellme?

Danny walks over to some chairs with his friends. They sitdown with him.

From the side wall, DETECTIVES BRYCE HUNTER, 35, and KENLARSON, 31, walk up to him.

HUNTERDaniel Weston?

DANNYYes?

HUNTERIm Detective Hunter and this is mypartner, Detective Larson. Wereinvestigating the shooting of yourfather.

Danny stands from his chair.

DANNYWhat happened?

LARSONAs far as we can tell it was a carjacking in the parking lot of hisoffice.

HUNTERWe think that the carjackersurprised your father. There was astruggle and he was shot.

DANNYDid you get the guy?

HUNTERNot at this time. He must havefreaked out after he shot yourfather and took off on foot.

DANNYI dont believe this. His carwasnt even that new.

DOCTOR HENRY THOMPSON, 48, walks up to Danny.

DANNY (CONTD)Are you the doctor thats beenworking on my dad? How is he?

THOMPSONIm afraid I have some bad news.Your fathers injuries were veryserious. Im sorry, but we losthim.

Danny looks like he is about faint when Jack and Paul quicklyleave their seats and catch him. Danny starts to cry as Jackand Paul gently put him back in his chair.

DANNYI cant ... I cant.

HUNTERIm sorry for your loss, Mr.Weston. I assure you well doeverything to make sure that wecatch his killer.

Danny looks at Hunter with tears falling down his face.

DANNYYou do that, Detective Hunter. Youdo that.

Danny slowly stands.

DANNY (CONTD)Doctor, can I see my father now.

THOMPSONOf course.

FREDDYYou want us to come with you?

DANNYYou guys stay here. Ill be rightback.

Danny walks off with the doctor leaving the cops and hisfriends concerned.

INT: LIMOUSINE - DAY

Danny is dressed in a black suit, wearing sunglasses andsitting in the back seat as the funeral procession followsbehind him. Sitting next to him is his mother, REBECCAWESTON, 38. She is also dressed in black.

REBECCAYou havent said a word in the lasttwo hours.

DANNYIve got nothing to say. Thanks for

flying out for the funeral.

REBECCAI had to.

DANNYWhy?

REBECCABecause I loved your father.

DANNYYou didnt love him enough to

forgive him.

REBECCAThats not fair, Danny. Your fatherbroke my heart. I had a hard timetrying to find forgiveness. Thoughright now, the whole thing seems sostupid.

DANNYMaybe if you had forgiven him, youtwo would be together and he didntfeel like he had to bury himself inhis work.

REBECCAYoure blaming me for what happenedto your father?

DANNYNo, of course not. Im sorry, Mom.I didnt mean it. I just wish...

Danny is at the front door as he says goodbye to his last

guest, Dr. Kressly.

DR. KRESSLYOnce again, Im sorry about whathappened. Youre father was a goodfriend and colleague.

DANNYThanks Dr. Kressly.

DR. KRESSLYIf you need anything, you just letme know.

DANNYI will. Thanks.

He closes the door behind him. He walks into the living roomand takes off his tie as he sits in his fathers favoritechair. Rebecca exits the kitchen with two cups of coffee. Shehands one to Danny.

Rebecca sits on the couch.

How are you feeling?

DANNYI always knew this day would comesome day, but I figured it would beafter he had a chance to have somegrandchildren sit on his lap. Inever thought this day would comeso soon.

Danny runs his hands along the arms of the chair.

DANNY (CONTD)

He really loved this old chair.

REBECCAI remember when I bought it forhim. At first he complained aboutit everyday. Once he broke it in, Icouldnt get him out of it. It wasthe one thing he wanted to keep inthe divorce settlement.

DANNYIm surprised you didnt fightharder for it.

They both share a strained giggle.

REBECCAHave you figured out what youregoing to do now?

DANNYI have to talk to his lawyer andsettle the estate.

REBECCAAnd after that?

DANNYI dont know. Maybe try and get thealbum finished.

REBECCAYou can always come back with me.

Danny, Jack, Freddy and Paul are back playing. Danny is notpaying attention. Everyone stops.

FREDDYYou okay, Danny?

DANNYI wish everyone would stop askingme that.

JACKIts only been three weeks since,you know.

PAULYou cant expect to just come backlike nothing happened.

DANNYTheres nothing I can do about thepast. Moving forward and playingmusic is the only thing I careabout.

JACKSo how come youre not playinganything?

DANNYWhats that supposed to mean? Allyou guys wanted to do was to getfucked up. I was the one thatkicked you in the ass to startplaying like a band.

JACKDont be getting all holier thanthou shit on me.

Jack and Danny approach each other. Freddy steps in the way.

Danny begins to pack up his things.

FREDDYYou want some company tonight?

DANNYNo.

Danny exits the garage.

PAULBye.

FREDDYThat dudes hurting.

FREDDYI dont know. Maybe we should dosomething.

JACKWell, I dont feel like going toanother funeral.

PAULWhat does that mean?

FREDDYIt means we should pack up thisplace and go see if we can help himthrough this.


Danny is sitting in hid fathers favorite chair with a smallcase on his lap. A picture of his father sits on a smallround table next to the chair. Danny open the case. Insidethe case is a small caliber gun and six bullets.

Danny takes out the gun and looks at it. He throws the caseon the floor. He opens the chamber and starts to load thebullets into it. He spins the chamber and then slaps it back

into the gun.

He takes a few deep breaths when he hears a knock on hisfront door.

With slight panic, he rises out of the chair and quicklyhides the gun under one of the couch cushions. As he walksto the door, he sees the case and kicks it under the couch.

The knocking on the door becomes louder.

Danny walks over and opens the door. TWO MASKED MEN enter thehouse. They quickly shut the door behind them. Masked Man Onegrabs Danny by the shirt and slams him up against the wall.

DANNYWhat do you want?!

MASKED MAN ONEShut up!

Masked Man Two checks outside through the closed curtains onthe windows.

MASKED MAN TWOIt looks clear.

Masked Man One slams Danny against the wall again.

MASKED MAN ONEOkay kid, where is it?

DANNYWhere is what?

MASKED MAN TWOLook at him talking like he dontknow.

MASKED MAN ONE

Dont play us.

DANNYLook, if its money you want, Idont have any. My lawyer saiditll be another two weeks before Iget the first insurance payment.

MASKED MAN ONEDont give us that shit. We wantthe thing.

DANNY

What thing?

MASKED MAN ONEThe thing your dad was working on.

DANNYWhat do you guys want our toasterfor?

Masked Man One punches Danny to the floor.

DANNY (CONTD)Now hold on a second! I swear Idont know what youre talkingabout, but maybe its in his workroom.

Masked Man Two picks Danny up off the floor.

Detective Hunter is sitting at his desk across from Larson

who is sitting at his desk. A LAB ASSISTANT, 24, from theforensic lab walks up to them. He is carrying an envelope anda clip board.

LAB ASSISTANTDetective Hunter?

HUNTERYes?

LAB ASSISTANTDr. Carver said you guys can givethis stuff back to the Weston boy.

It came up clean.

LARSONWas Carver able to get anything wecan use?

LAB ASSISTANTNothing yet. Im sorry.

HUNTERIts not your fault, kid.

The Lab Assistant hands Hunter the envelope then hands him

the clip board.

LAB ASSISTANTI need you to sign for this.

Hunter takes the clipboard and signs his name to the invoice.

LAB ASSISTANT (CONTD)Thank you sir.

The Lab Assistant exits.

LARSONIll give the kid a call tomorrow.

HUNTERI feel bad making him come all theway down here and we dont have anynews for him.

LARSONYou want me to make something up?

Hunter grabs the envelope and his coat slung over his chairand exits the squad room.

INT: MARTINS WORK ROOM - NIGHT

The masked men viciously throw Danny into Martins work room.He falls on the floor as they quickly look around throwingthings in all directions. Masked Man One walks up to thelarge cabinet and tries to open it.

MASKED MAN ONEWheres the God damn key to thisthing?

DANNYI dont know.

Masked Man One pulls a gun out from under his shirt and aimsit at Dannys head.

MASKED MAN ONEYour next answer better help meopen that cabinet.

DANNYKiss my ass!

Masked Man One is about to hit Danny with his gun then thinksfor a moment. He turns around and aims his gun at thecabinet. Masked Man Two stops him.

Danny runs for the door. Masked Man One fires a shot at Dannyand misses.


The sound of the gunfire distracts Masked Man Two. Jack leapson him and grabs his gun arm. Paul jumps on him and helpsJack.

Masked man Two pulls his arm down and fires. The bullet hitsFreddy in the chest and he falls to the floor. Danny divesinto the living room as Jack and Paul let go of Masked ManTwo.

Danny reaches under the couch cushion and pulls out his Dadsgun. He fires a round into the chest of Masked Man Two asMasked Man One enters the living room.

Jack and Paul duck for cover as Danny fires another round atMasked Man One. Masked Man One fires back and runs out thefront door.

Masked man One turns and sees Hunter aiming his gun at him.He aims his gun at Hunter and is killed by two shots fromHunters gun.


Detective Hunter enters the house to see Paul sitting on thefloor in a state of shock while Jack is doing CPR on Freddy.

JACKDanny, God damn it, call 911.

Danny is standing over Masked Man Two still aiming his gun at

him. Detective Hunter calmly walks up to Danny.

HUNTERDanny. Its Detective Hunter. Itsover now.

Hunter gently takes the gun out of Dannys hand. He puts itin his pocket and holsters his gun in side his jacket. Hetakes off his jacket and kneels down to Jack and Freddy.

HUNTER (CONTD)Here, let me do that.

Jack backs away as Hunter takes over.

HUNTER (CONTD)Call 911 and tell them there was anofficer involved shooting.Requesting back up and anambulance. You got that?

HUNTERThey had to be looking forsomething. If it was just a homeinvasion, they just would have shotyou and ransacked the house.

Danny is lying on his bed talking on his cell phone to hismother.

Danny closes his phone and puts it on his night table. Hegets out of bed and starts to get out of his pajamas.

INT: BATHROOM - MORNING

Danny is taking a shower. He lets the stream of water cascadedown his face as he tries to relax.


Danny, now dressed in jeans is putting a t-shirt on. After hepops his head through the neck hole, he notices the envelopethat Detective Hunter gave him. He picks up the envelope andsits on his bed.

It takes him a moment before he can finally open theenvelope. He tears off the top and dumps the contents ontohis bed. He picks up his fathers watch and looks at it for amoment before he puts it on around his left wrist. He looksat his clock and makes sure the time is the same.

Danny picks up his fathers wallet. He opens it up and looksat his fathers picture on his drivers licence. A small tearrolls from his eye and is quickly wiped away.

He picks up his fathers key chain and looks at the keys. Henotices a very small key and thinks about it for a moment.

INT: MARTINS WORK ROOM - DAY

Danny enters the his fathers work room and walks over to thebig cabinet. He takes the key from his fathers key chain andinserts it into the key hole. The key opens the cabinet door.

Opening the door, he looks into the cabinet and sees a longcase. He takes the case out of the cabinet, walks over to thelong table and places the case on the table.

He puts his thumbs on the latch releases and pushes them tothe side. The catches fling open. He lifts the top of the

case open.

Inside the case is a modified guitar. It have strings ofdifferent lengths stretched from the neck to the bridge onthe body. There is no headstock or tuning keys. Two thinmetal plates flank each side of the strings. There is aswitch and two small knobs on the body of the guitar.

Danny takes the guitar out of the box.

DANNYWhat the hell is this? Looks my oldGibson Les Paul.

Danny looks into the case and finds a very thick guitarstrap. The ends of the strap are plugs that fit into ports onthe neck and body. Danny connects the strap and places itover his head. He strums the strings.

DANNY (CONTD)This thing is totally out of tune.

Danny looks over the guitar but doesnt see any tuning keys.He does notice the switch on the front. He hits the switchup. The guitar begins to hum. He tries to play a string butreceives an electrical shock.

DANNY (CONTD)Son of a bitch. How the hell do youplay this thing?

Danny looks into the case and finds a guitar pick. Itsthicker than a normal pick and made of a material thatpuzzles him.

DANNY (CONTD)Never saw a pick like this before.

Danny takes the pick and hits the first string. The roombegins to get blurry to Danny. He almost loses his balance.He turns off the switch and takes the guitar off from aroundhis neck. He places it back into the case.

Dannys cell phone rings from the pocket in his jeans. Hetakes the cell phone out of his pocket and answers it.

Danny looks at his watch.

Danny looks around the work room and sees a digital clock inthe corner of the room. The clock reads 8:35 AM. Danny has aconcerned and confused look on his face.

Danny quickly closes his phone and puts it back in his pocketas he exits the work room.


Danny races into the kitchen and looks at the wall clock. Itreads the same time as the work room clock.

INT: DANNYS LIVING ROOM - MORNING

Danny enters the living room and looks at the clock over thefireplace. It reads the same time as the other two clocks.

DANNYThis is impossible.

INT: MARTINS OFFICE - MORNING

Danny enters his dads office and starts rummaging throughhis papers. He frantically searches for something he doesntknow what he looking for. He goes to his dads wall safe andopens it up.

Dannys surroundings begin to get blurry as he watches theroom change as the it was changed in the past. He can see thetwo masked men pushing him around. He can see his father

working on the guitar.

The room begins to return into focus. Danny staggers alittle. Aside from a few changes, nothing seems different.

Danny looks at his watch. The time has only changed a fewminutes.

DANNY (CONTD)Dad? Are you home?

His cell phone begins to ring in his pocket. He reaches inand answers it.

DANNY (CONTD)Hello? Freddy? Youre alive! Nevermind. Yeah, Im not going to beable to make it tonight. My dadneeds me. Ive got to go. Ill callyou tomorrow.

Danny closes his phone and takes the guitar from around hisneck. He puts the guitar back in its case and places it backinto the long cabinet.

Danny runs out of the work room.

INT: DANNYS CAR - NIGHT

Danny is driving to Martins work. He looks at his watch.

DANNYGot plenty of time. The cops saidhe was shot around 9:30.

EXT: CITY STREET - NIGHT

Dannys car turn onto another street only to find a trafficjam.

Danny runs back to his car and gets in.


Danny puts his car into reverse and tries to back out of thestreet. Another car is behind him. He honks his horn.

The car does not move.

Danny exists his car and walks up to the car behind him.

The driver of the car exist and Danny can see that the driveris a huge MAN with a bald head and tatoos.

Danny drives his car onto the sidewalk and starts driving

towards the accident. Pedestrians jump out of his way as hemakes his way around the accident.

The cops on the scene see Dannys car coming around them fromthe sidewalk. One cop tries to stop him but has to jump outof the way as Danny drives off the sidewalk and back onto thestreet.

The cop tries to get his license plate number but has toreturn to the accident to help out.


Danny looks into his rear view mirror to see if any of thecops are following him. Seeing that hes in the clear, helooks at his watch.

DANNYFifteen minutes, plenty of time.

As Danny looks up, he sees a homeless man with a shoppingcart full of junk crossing the street.

Danny continues to drive with the sparking shopping cart andthe pursuing patrol car.

Martin reaches his car and takes out his keys to unlock thecar door.

The shadowed figure moves slowly towards Martin.

Martin unlocks his door and open the car door when he hearsthe sound of screeching tires. He looks over to the parkinglot entrance.

Dannys car comes screaming around the corner. The shopping

dislodges as he hits a speed bump and crashes through thewooded arm of the gate. The patrol car is close behind him.

Danny skids his car to a halt as Martins eyes widen withsurprise.

The shadowed figure turns and walks away from Martin.

Danny exits his car as the patrol car comes to a stop next tothem.

Danny runs over and hugs his father.

DANNYDad! I made it! Thank God I madeit!

MARTINDanny! Have you lost your mind?

The POLICE OFFICER, 32, exits his car. He grabs Danny andthrows him against the trunk of his car.

The two men walk up to the front door. The pull masks overtheir faces and knock on the door. After they receive noanswer, they kick the door in and enter the house.


The two men quickly look around the living room.

Martin, Karen and Danny sneak around the side of their houseand run for Martins car.


The two masked men enter Martins work room. As the clear thedoor, Masked Man One breaks a thin string along the floor.


As Martin gets into the driver side of his car, Karen in thepassenger side and Danny in the back seat, they see a smallexplosion coming from Martins work room.

DANNYDad?

MARTIN

That should slow them down.


The work room has been destroyed. The two masked men lie onthe floor shaking debris off their heads.


Martin starts the car and backs it out of the driveway. Hebacks the car into the front end of the assailants car asthe two masked men exit the house.

As Martin puts the car into drive and steps on the gas, thetwo masked men open fire on Martins car.

The two masked men run to their car and enter. They start itup and begin to chase after Martins car.

Those guys shot at you!

MARTINYes, which means we have to losethem somehow.


Martin drives through the neighborhood streets. The maskedmen are close behind them. Masked Man Two opens his window

and tries to fire his gun at them.

The bullets impact on Martins car.


The pursuers bullets hit the frame of the car and shatterthe back window.

Martin tries to speed up and drive around the cars on thefreeway. The masked Mens car speed up to catch them.


Danny watches as they approach them.

DANNYNo time for regrets now.


The Masked Mens car pulls alongside Martins car and startsto broadside it. They hit him three times trying to drivethem off the road. Martin can see masked Man two taking aimwith his gun.


Martin is trying his best to keep his car under control. Hesees a exit ramp in front of him.

MARTINEveryone, hang on!

Martin steps on his brake hard.

Martins car stops as the pursuers fly by him as they try tohit him again. They miss and drive across the lane into the acar in the next lane over. They hit the car and it goes offthe road.

Martin steers his car for the exit ramp and gets off thefreeway.

The masked Men drive their car off the freeway and down thegrass embankment to get off the highway where Martin did.


Martin swerves onto a busy street dodging cars in front of

him. Martin drives by scaffolding in front of a building.


Martin looks at the scaffolding as he drives by it.

MARTINDanny, take out the guitar.

Danny opens the case and takes out the guitar.

MARTIN (CONTD)Turn it on and get the pick.

Martin starts to do computations in his head. Danny removesthe special pick from the case and turns on the power switch.

MARTIN (CONTD)Set it for two, no three minutesthen tell me to hit thescaffolding.

DANNYI dont understand.

MARTINJust do it!

Danny sets the knobs on the guitar.

seat of car, but can see the scaffolding is now in front ofthem.

Martin steers his car into the scaffolding taking out theouter supports. As he passes through the structure. The

scaffolding begins to fall.

The main structure of the scaffolding falls on the followingof the masked man.


Martin looks in his rear view mirror to see the results ofhis maneuver.

Karen enters through the front door and is immediatelygrabbed by Masked Man Two. She screams.

INT: STABLE - DAY

Danny hears Karens scream. Before he can run to her, he isgrabbed from behind by Masked Man One. They struggle for amoment. Danny elbows him in the stomach. Masked Man One letshim go. Danny looks for a weapon and picks up a pitchfork.

He tries to stab Masked Man One but keeps missing him. MaskedMan One grabs hold of the pitchfork and swings Danny into oneof the empty stall. Danny falls on a pile of hay and hits hishead on something. He sees the time device case. He takes thecase and runs out of the stall.

Masked Man One, now with the pitchfork, aims the pointstowards Danny.

Danny and Masked Man One face off against each other. Dannyuses the case to block the thrusts of Masked Man One. Dannymaneuvers Masked man One so that his back is turned towardsthe hinds legs of Timber.

Danny lets out a loud whistle. Timber kicks with his backlegs and knocks masked Man One to the ground.

Danny takes the case and jumps on the back of Timber. Theyride out of the stable.

EXT: STABLE - DAY

Danny and Timber ride off towards an open field. Masked ManOne runs out of the stable and to his dirt bike. As he startsup the motor, Masked Man Two exits the house.

MASKED MAN ONE

The kids got the machine!

Masked Man One shifts his bike into gear as Masked Man Tworaces towards his bike. As Masked Man One takes off afterDanny, Masked Man Two starts his bike and quickly followssuit.

EXT: OPEN FIELD - DAY

The two Masked Men chase Danny and Timber through the openfield jumping over uneven landscape to try and catch Dannyand Timber. A wooded forest is one hundred yards away.

Masked Man Two hears a sputtering sound and turns around.Timber stands behinds him. Timber rears up his forelegs andhits Masked Man Two in the head. Masked Man Two falls to theground and drops his gun. As Timber continues to step onMasked Man Two, Danny dives for the gun. Once the gun is inDannys hand, He aims it and fires. The bullet goes through

Masked Man Twos leg. Danny cold cocks Masked Man Two in thehead. He tucks the gun into his belt and walks up to Timber.

Dr. Kressly brings his hand to the strings. The minute hetouches it a strong electric shock zaps his hand away. Haroldfires and kills Brackman.

Martin leaps off the couch and takes on Dr. Kressly. Dannypulls the gun from behind him and aims it at Dr. Kressly butcant get a clear shot with Martin in the way.

Martin tries to wrest the guitar from Dr. Kressly. As theyfight, Dr. Kressly pulls a gun out from his jacket.

Danny! Shoot the guitar!

Danny shoots a hole in the back of the guitar. Martin and Dr.Kressly begin to blur. A small spacial anomaly opens upbehind them and sucks them into the opening. It closesquickly behind them. Danny, in a state of shock, drops thegun.
