VALENTIN RUDSKY'S GREAT-GRANDFATHER (HIS MOTHER’S GRANDFATHER) FEDOR EFIMOVICH BOLSHANIN HAD BEEN APPOINTED AS A PRIEST OF KARGASOK CHURCH OF THE SAVIOUR ON JUNE 30, 1852.

SO ON KARGASOK EARTH THERE APPEARED VALENTIN RUDSKY'S MATERNAL TRACE.

*THE RUDSKY DYNASTY

We don’t know for sure when and how the Rudskys got to Siberia. Obviously, they were exiled as many others.

* GRIGORY SEVERYANOVICH RUDSKY(1886 – 5.10.1937)

Grigory Severyanovich Rudsky (Valentin Grigoryevich’s father) was born in 1886 in the village in Holmsk province, Belsky district (Poland). He was Ukrainian by nationality. He studied at the Warsaw University. During the World War I he was the officer in the imperial army.

On arriving to Siberia the Rudskys lived in Parabel settlement. Grigory Severyanovich had a wife Elizabeth Vasilyevna Bolshanina and three sons Fedor, Valentin, and Yuli. He worked at a meteorological station in Parabel. He was engaged in meteorological observations.

Then the family moved to Sredny Vasugan where Grigory Severyanovich was appointed a manager of the local meteostation.

Grigory Severyanovich was an intelligent, well-educated, sociable and helpful person. He taught local people new technologies in growing up tomatoes and cucumbers.

On July 6, 1937 Grigory Severyanovich was arrested as an enemy of the Soviet government.

He was shot on October 5, 1937.

He was rehabilitated in October, 1959.

*VALENTIN GRIGORYEVICH RUDSKY(02.08.1926 г.р.)

Valentin Grigoryevich Rudsky was born on August 2, 1926 in Parabel.

He spent his childhood in Sredny Vasugan, Kargasok region.

After his father’s arrest in 1937 the family moved to Kargasok.

Valentin Grigoryevich left from school No. 1 in 1944 and went to the front at

once. In 1947 he came back to Kargasok after demobilization and started working

as a teacher at the same school. The next 60 years were devoted to children

and phenology.

Valentin Rudsky graduated from Tomsk State Pedagogical University, the biology and chemistry faculty. For about 20 years he had been teaching geography and biology at school No. 1in Kargasok. According to his students’ words, his lessons were not ordinary and his teaching approach wasn’t traditional at all. For many pupils Valentin Grigoryevich still remains a chief mentor in their life. They keep in contact with him and consider him as the Teacher from God.

* The main contributions of Valentin

Grigoryevich Rudsky:- he created the

local history and activity approach to a teaching methodology

based on patriotic education;

- created the first in Tomsk region modern

educational classroom and started the

"classroom" system in teaching;

- created the system of out-of-class activity and a natural

and geographical club in the school;

* - organized a phenological network of school students in Tomsk region which gave the chance to

collect the big factual material numbering more than 500 thousand dates which is stored now in Tomsk

region study museum;

* - developed the program of museum activity of the school and created the region study museum in

Kargasok school No. 1;

- organized the school garden where students grew flowers and other plants both for school and

village decoration;

* - took part in development of the program of ecological education for the secondary school, wrote textbooks for primary school and developed Recommendations to teachers for ecology teaching in primary school;

- wrote the scientific and informative ecological manual " Nature Calendar of the City of Tomsk" and conducted the ecological program on the regional radio.
