April-July 2013
At the outset, once again I feel privileged to ink a few lines for this issue of our newsletter.
We, at St. Stephen’s Hospital College of Nursing adopt process and practice oriented ap-
proach for providing nursing education and training. The faculty and students enthusiasti-
cally participate to achieve the educational excellence. The committed faculty members
work tirelessly to provide quality education and training in the class rooms as well as in the
clinical areas which resulted in excellent results and placement of our students. Hearty con-
gratulations to all B.Sc (Hons) nursing students who have passed in the University examina-
tions.
Besides providing quality academic input, we continue to follow a multi-pronged approach for the overall
growth of the students. This approach consists of exposure to various organizations, hospitals, workshops,
seminars and conferences with the emphasis on developing skill in management of patient care with multiple
conditions. Various socio-cultural events and sports activities are also conducted for enhancing the organiz-
ing ability, co-operation and developing a competitive team spirit.
Sincere welcome to all freshers who have just joined the St. Stephen’s Hospital family. Remember that none
of you are here by chance but by the Grace and will of God Almighty. Therefore, trust in the Lord and study
well. Be humble and spread the aroma of Christ. Have a positive attitude towards everything you come
across. Respect your seniors and elders. Hostel is your home away from home. Living together, knowing,
sharing each others concerns and making friends in the hostel is a privilege and will have a lifelong impact.
Therefore, make wise use of the hostel, which is a beautiful place of living together with friends.
I would encourage all our students and alumni to reflect and share your experiences in the form of short sto-
ries or poems to expand our horizons and strengthen our bonds.
With all best wishes..

for the workshop was “Nursing Theories”. Nursing theories pro-
vide a basis for critical thinking thus guiding the nurses in the clinical decision making process. Knowledge of

As we move on in life, we meet new people who are strangers to begin with but later become an impor-tant part of our lives. Initially, we name them as classmates and then we c a l l t h e m friends. As time passes, we call them best friends and then as “Best Friends Forever”. Then we suddenly realize that n o t h i n g i s “forever”. But there is some-thing which will be forever with us…… “Memories”. The sweet and sour memo-ries that we create together- memories that would bring smiles on our faces whenever we feel sad. I may be bidding farewell to some precious people, who cared for me in a big way, but I am also taking away the most beautiful memories of my life with me. This place has taught me to live up to my dreams and never give up. I am dedicating this write up to those people who have made me feel so spe-cial. I may or may not be in touch with you as we move on in life, but I will miss you when there is no one to console me when I am sad….when no one will give me a hug without any reason. I thank all those people who have made the past four years of my life beautiful enough to be cherished forever.
