Unity Project Student Union FieldStaffed by the Intercultural and Diversity Center, the Unity Project is an interactive art project designed to celebrate the uniqueness of each member of the community and raise awareness of how labels impact our perception of and interactions with the world. Stop by at any point during the weekend to participate.

“THE TALK” KEYNOTEMainstage Theater Center for the Arts This conversation is a high energy, engaging, and interactive discussion that helps students navigate through the banter and issues on their social media timelines. Led by Odell Bizell, this session on the topic of inclusion works to break down barriers that often limit us from truly connecting with one another and introduces an actionable plan to be more diversity minded as a college student at UB.

Thursday Reconnect with familiar faces from the summer, and spend the day getting to know the incoming class and why it’s a great time to be a UB Bull.

Meeting people was something that I was really nervous about at first, so I pushed myself to start with the people I lived near. Small interactions like leaving my door open and saying hi to people in the halls helped me build a community in the residence halls. I also went to lots of Welcome Weekend events with my roommate; it was nice to lean on that built-in friend!”
