Awards and Highlights
2015-2016 The 2015-2016 Academic Year was a year of change, growth and success for the Office
of Sponsored Programs. Our major accomplishments included:
58 proposals submitted with a total value of $15,124,673
37 new awards received with a total value of $7,483,374
69 active awards with a total value of 6,319,733
Submission of WP’s first PCT/Utility Patent application
EXPLORATIONS 2016: Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity at William
Paterson University
Hired new Assistant Director, Christine Bravo
Completed the Research and Research-Related Development Initiative: Phase I
The OSP will publish two editions of the Star Report this year. This first edition is a
summary of what happened last year. The second edition will have information and
resources to support proposals and awards, the IRB, and EXPLORATIONS 2017.

Welcome Christine Bravo to OSP
W e would like to introduce our latest member of the OSP staff: Christine
Bravo!
Christine joined the OSP in May 2016 as Assistant Director, Pre-Award
Services. Having worked in the research administration field for over 20 years, she
brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to WP. She works with faculty and staff
from all areas of the University to encourage and assist with the development and
submission of grant proposals and contract bids for
research, instructional improvement, student support,
expert consulting and other academic, creative, and
service activities.
In addition to her responsibilities at WP, she is an online
instructor of technical writing and also volunteers her
editing services to peers working on various projects.
She is married and the proud mother of a four-year-old
daughter.
We are pleased to welcome Christine to our team!
