TC 282 Tel Aviv, Israel, November
2019 Meeting
On Wednesday (Nov.20):
ISO Excellence Award was given to Prof. Hong-Ying Hu of China, by Naty Barak, Chairman of
TC282. The ISO Excellence Award was presented in honor of Prof. Hong-Ying Hu's excellent
work in ISO SC2 and of his professional leadership in the development of ISO 20760-1:2018
and ISO 20761:2018 -- Water reuse in urban areas.
Reception at Phyllis Posey's home in Jerusalem - at the end of that day's meeting, we all
enjoyed an unforgettable evening at Phyllis Posey's home in Jerusalem. On our way there,
we travelled around the capital city and visited some of its major sites, such as the Knesset
(Israeli parliament), the Supreme Court of Israel, the Old City Wall, the Tower of David and
other monuments. At Phyllis' house, delicious soups were waiting to warm us of the cold
weather. Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, who is also responsible for water-related issues in the
city, came to meet us. Before returning to Tel Aviv, we stopped to watch the landscape of
Jerusalem at night and visited an ancient aqueduct that was used in the past to supply water
to the old city of Jerusalem.
The meetings were held with cooperation and mutual help, which contributed to the work of the TC.
Good progress was made in the development of the standards.
The next TC spring meeting will be held in Bolivia on the week of May 18th, 2020.
