As you are aware, Nashville Heights (Block 61-located between East Side of Huntington Rd and CP railway from south of Nashville Rd to Major MacKenzie) was approved for development in 2009, and the block plan is the next official step in the planning proc- ess for this area. The proposed development allows for 8300 people and jobs within the large block area. Still planned is a central village plan with a piazza and mixed use de- velopment for shopping and resi- dent services. There are now larger lots in the northern section (a KARA request), and overall a slightly lower number of residential units and density (another KARA request). KARA will continue to advocate for a liveable and sustainable community with excellent community services, appropriate density development, increased green space, green buffers, parkland and recreational space/facilities including parks large enough for soccer fields. KARA’s Planning and Development Committee and our Board will review the proposal, and report on it in the next edition of “The Spirit”. Our Association will also be forwarding comments to the developers and to the City of Vaughan. Please send your comments to [email protected] . The recently transformed Shaw residence, located at 10525 Isling- ton Avenue in the heart of pictur- esque Kleinburg, is now the new home to an old fashion style bar- ber shop. Established since 1987, Frank Minicucci, the barber, is commit- ted to preserving the art of barbering and the old fashion bar- ber décor will make you feel like you have just stepped back in time. With the spinning barber pole and an old vintage auto- mobile always parked out front, the shop has become an at- traction for tourists and photographers. Frank has been cutting hair for over 25 years and he knows the style that's just right for you. He feels that while some sa- lons offer limited services for men he can offer more such as a hot lather neck shave, beard shaping and colouring. Services are all finished with the best hair tonics and after shave lotions. Frank the barber is always there ready to give you the style and cut you deserve. Reserva- tions are never required and walk-ins are always welcome. Espresso is always hot and ready with a warm atmosphere and great conversation.
