the space between by anthony cummins
All the work in this publication was produced over the thirty-one daysof July 2012 (and a little bit into August, but please dont tell anyone) forGallery Reds annual exhibition 31 DAYS.
To answer this years brief, the space between, I decided to explore whatwould happen if my illustration and photography met.
The idea behind the exhibition is to produce one artwork a day for thirty-one
days, which turns out to be a pretty big ask. I have finished up with twenty-fiveworks and one publication to hold them all. Approaching the end of the projectI became loathe to separate the individual works from each other.
The weeks that make up the chapters are loosely based on the bursts ofcreativity that produced the artwork. Week Five was initially called ExtraTime but consistency eventually won over.
A big thank you to Jus, my beautiful wife, as well as Tristan, Ingrid and Elly,my colleagues, who have all been encouraging, supportive and patient withme as I have worked on putting this together.
Thanks also to Allison, for her last minute editorial assistance.
