Sound and silence complement each other. There is light because there is shadow. There is sound because there is silence. Silence identifies each sound into its form as shadow makes light reveals forms. After living in shadow for so long, it is time for our forms to be transformed by light and sublimated in colors.

What is perceived under daylight, is no longer heard in silence. Colors and shapes that ordinarily appear in the sun, transform into another state that reveals the discreetness of their substance, invisible by day. Black suggests darkness. I was inspired by French painter Pierre Soulages who uses black as a means to create light. Often called the “Painter of Black,” he has obsessively worked with this color in the paintings to capture the light and express the colors. For example, when a black is cold or warm, it can give us an idea of a blue. I imagined a dress that is no longer showing its color relative to daylight, but its own texture revealed by the purity of its inner light.

The long silent path of civic-19 helped us walk individually on our own paths, physically separated but mentally united. We learned to adapt to any situation and use our imagination to express warmth, life and freedom.
