Cheri McLeod is passionate about community, civic engagement and bringing people together. Recreating her life after a brain injury and learning to cope with mental illnesses, Cheri found that the secret to her recovery came with helping others. From initiating free hug days to organizing civic engagement events such as London's VOICE, Cheri is inspired by fellow Londoners to do more for our community. An Awesome London Trustee, a proud supporter of Women in Politics and most recently, newly named President of the SoHo Community Association, Cheri is fully engaged, and loving every minute of it.
Over the past 20 years Eric Vardon has been involved with over 10 successful businesses and led award-winning campaigns for a broad range of market leaders including AOL, Bridgestone, General Motors, GoodLife Fitness, Roots, The Hearst Company, Laura Secord, Popular Mechanics and Wired Magazine.
As Founder of Canadian clothing brand AllMaple Apparel, Eric grew the venture from initial concept into two retail flagship stores, a national wholesale division and a global E-commerce store. At its peak, AllMaple featured on MTV, Much Music, The Juno Awards and in a national partnership with Molson Breweries.
Currently, Vardon holds equity in over 5 businesses and is the President & CEO at Arcane –a new breed of marketing agency that combines digital innovation and brand storytelling to deliver ROI-obsessed marketing campaigns.
Ross Rains is a commercial office developer and business coach with a connection to SOHO going back some 8 years with his family run business now operating four properties in SOHO. He is passionate about helping young entrepreneurs, social service organizations as well as IT pioneers find a home in SOHO where they can plant and grow
Michelle Quintyn is a renowned leader in the non-profit community. As President and CEO of Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes, Michelle has guided the evolution of Goodwill’s mission and operations since 2005, growing from 4,000 to 20,000 people served, increasing the social enterprise revenue from $5.8 million to $21 million, and creating more than 350 new jobs to enlarge the workforce to 520 employees. With extensive experience in non-profit management, community development, fundraising, government relations, marketing, strategic communications and administration, she is responsible for founding and developing several signature non-profits addressing important social, cultural, community and environmental change.
Karen brings together 15 years of business experience and acumen in sales, marketing, communications, digital and social strategy, operations management, and project management to help companies redesign their internal operations, which leads to designing external opportunities.
Operations matter. As a process designer, Karen has created efficiencies and saved her organizations hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. As a Project Manager, Karen managed the implementation of projects that have ranged from $2M to $35M. Due to her background as a Business Analyst and Project Manager, she has an innate understanding of the importance of establishing best practices and how to measure their impact.
Emily Nielsen is one of Canada’s leading Unified Communications Strategists. As a business owner and entrepreneur, clients benefit from her strong business acumen and her ability to align technology projects to business needs that produce superior results. Emily has a strong background in IP telephony, multimedia contact center, data/video networks, mobility applications and much more.
