Welcome to the summer of 2016! And welcome to another eight weeks of good old-fashioned fun – CBSC style. I often refer to Crescent Beach as the land that time forgot and I say it with pride. In our increasingly wired world where multiple screens compete for our attention and we allow ourselves to be scheduled to within an inch of our lives, I LOVE my summers at Crescent Beach. So does my family. And according to the survey we conducted after last summer, so do all our members!

We love our CBSC summers because we are outside, doing things together as families, making new friends and connecting with old friends. We love the way our coaches serve as role models for the younger kids, many of whom will be coaches themselves as we repeat this magic formula from generation to generation.

If you are a new member – WELCOME ABOARD! I encourage you to participate in lots of activities and I hope that you and your family have an amazing CBSC summer.

Part of the magic of the CBSC is the fact that we are a volunteer organization. We’re like an over-sized parent-participation pre-school. Thank you in advance to all the parents who will be chipping in throughout the summer. You are the backbone of the CBSC! If you’re not already on the volunteer team but wish you were…no problem! Send a note to [email protected]. The more the merrier.

One more thing… Our 100th summer will be in 2018. Stay tuned for opportunities to get involved in the planning for what will be an amazing summer of centennial celebrations.

Now it’s time to go sailing, or swimming, or maybe I should play tennis…such hard choices!

SWIMMING

SAILING COURSESThe CBSC Sailing Program is designed to foster enthusiasm for sailing. Creative and energetic instructors create a fun and active learning environment for our sailors. Both beginning sailors and those returning to increase their skills will be individually challenged and rewarded as they achieve success throughout their courses.

Maximum class sizes of 12 students with 2 instructors allow for excellent sailor to coach interactions. Our well maintained fleet of Pirates has been supplemented by brand new RS Quests this year. The new boats offer a big improvement in size, and were developed to offer the ideal learning platform. This is the boat that sailing programs around the world want!

Your child will receive excellent instruction in a safe, dependable dinghy. All skills are demonstrated on the water or at the dock, which means more time on the water. Let's have some fun on the water!
