programme offers innovative EU SMEs the

The Overseas Trade Fair Participation programme is
part of phase 3 of the SME Instrument “Support to
commercialisation” funded by the EU’s Horizon
2020.
The overall objective of the programme is to
support the highly innovative SME Instrument
laureates in accessing overseas markets and allow
them to leverage business opportunities outside the
EU, further enhancing their growth potential.
This catalogue includes the profiles of the 15
thoroughly selected EU SMEs who are showcasing
their innovations at GITEX 2017, in the United Arab
Emirates.

Our product:
Via its core technology, the Dynamic Profile Controller™ (DPC™), Cloudstreet offers the world’s first commercially available Dynamic Network Slicing platform and a low-cost, high-return solution for delivering bandwidth-assured mobile content and data to any user, application or device in real time. The Cloudstreet solution includes an iOS and Android app or application library that allows user or machine requests for reserved, reliability-assured slices of the mobile network for any device or app via the Cloudstreet DPC™. If granted, these requests trigger the activation of pre-defined profiles to deliver optimized capacity/latency performance levels for any given user equipment (UE). These dynamic profile change requests may be based on users or groups of users, applications, devices, location and/or time depending on the context, to provide for near unlimited use of profile-based service provisioning determined by the operator. The DPC™ directly addresses the mobile operator’s greatest challenge allowing them to define, manage and deliver customer-oriented, application-aware Quality-of-Experience / Quality-of-Service (QoE/QoS) while effectively orchestrating network traffic and data demand. This opens up the opportunity to sell premium, assured connectivity for a burgeoning world of mobile-connected devices and their users well in advance of 5G. Thus the Cloudstreet DPC™ and associated network and device elements provide carriers both a critical path from 4G to 5G and a lucrative new business model to support and justify those investments. Cloudstreet’s primary categories of business partner

Communications Awards and recently shortlisted for the

ONYX was founded in 2009 in Ávila (Spain) with the aim of
being a global company whilst remaining fully independent
of national market tendencies. One of the most significant
steps in ONYX´s history was the establishment of a HQ in
the USA as well as the consolidation of a distribution
network worldwide. ONYX´s efforts have paid off and
nowadays more than 80 projects in 25 countries have been
executed. ONYX has also participated in several national
and European R&D projects. Among them, Advanced BIPV

Survey Lab Ltd. is a spinoff of Sapienza University of Rome
funded in 2008 by researchers of the Geodesy and
Geomatic Section of the Civil, Environmental and
Construction Engineering Department (DICEA).
The main expertise of the company is in the development,
distribution and promotion of innovative monitoring
systems based on satellite Earth Observation data and
geomatic techniques to monitor the stability of land,
structure and infrastructure in order to increase the
capability of setting up preventive mitigation actions to
protect land and urban areas.
Our product:
I.MODI®
is a value added monitoring system for structural
displacements, that allows non-experts to understand and
utilize the outcome of a satellite radar data analysis
(DInSAR).
This system integrates satellite measurements and in situ
information within numeric models in order to analyze the
displacements suffered by buildings and infrastructures,
sets up a damage assessment, provides damage history
and prevision, supplies useful and user-friendly risk
indicators.
I.MODI is structured on multiple levels of service, from
large-scale analysis to single building, dam or stretch of
road, customizable for different monitoring end-user
needs.
The I.MODI service is a powerful tool for setting up
prevention and investigation actions based on the
capability to perform back analysis using data archived
since early 1990s.
I.MODI verifies the structural health of urban areas,
roads and dams for various purposes (e.g. monitoring
construction and post-construction phases, back
analysis for forensic use, etc.), providing easy-to-
undestand reports also for people with no specific
skills.
Monitoring stability of buildings in large urban areas and
controlling critical civil infrastructure is a dominant socio-
economical issue for the safety of the population, structural
deterioration due to aging or to natural and man-made
subsidence processes, poses a threat to structural strength.
To date the evaluation of risks associated with the
deformation of constructions used ground based methods
and on direct analyses such as in-situ inspections/
investigations. These methods, although accurate at a local
scale, require placing devices on the structures that are
expensive and not always feasible.
To guarantee a systematic and comprehensive control of
stability over large areas or extended networks, satellite
remote sensing can be effectively adopted, Differential
Interferometry SAR (DInSAR) technology exploited by
I.MODI represents an adequate alternative solution can be
fully assimilated within the ground-based monitoring.

The TAIS product delivers to the market an inventive and efficient solution for the management of parking and traffic compliance through the deployment of a smart phone application for on street and car park enforcement. The TAIS Solution will replace existing handheld computers which are based on older hardware platforms running legacy operating systems and are cumbersome, heavy and slow to use. TAIS is fully integrated with existing TES ANPR / CCTV vehicles and TES Compliance Display Map which has been further developed to support the new TAIS application. TAIS provides reliable ANPR, real time permit checks with multiple suppliers, image and video capture using the inbuilt
technology of the mobile phone device, compatibility with all new and existent Bluetooth printing technologies whilst using cheap and widely available mobile phone hardware operating on the Windows and Android platforms. TES award winning CDM (Compliance Display Map) was used by LOCOG transport to manage over 2,000,000 virtual permits for the London 2012 Olympic Games. CDM is cloud based application that uses GPS tracking and 3/4G based technology to help manage parking and traffic enforcement activities, officers can be tracked and monitored online and issue code red (man down) alerts from their phone. Our target audience: TES is looking for strong links with re-seller agreements as well as channel partnerships for specific markets. Department of Transport, Parking and Enforcement providers, CCTV Enforcement providers, Smart City projects. Why us: TES produces award winning products, we won an award for our CDM product as part of the LOCOG partnership that delivered the parking solution for the London Olympic games at the British Parking Awards in March 2013. ANPR solutions to the public and private sector. All
products are developed in house with an emphasis on
research and development.

Advanced Protection Systems is a spin-off from SIRC which
is a high-tech microelectronics company delivering
solutions to the space market with the European Space
Agency as a premier client. Advanced Protection Systems
uses this space technology to deliver best on the market
counter UAV-systems.
Our product:
SafeSky - a counter-UAV system which is the only one with
four different sensors, all proprietary - radar, camera,
acoustic and RF.
SafeSky is also the only solution that guarantees dome/
umbrella-like protection without blind zones at a distance
of 1000 m for small drones in all weather conditions.
The system has already been commercially deployed with a
number of clients.
SafeSky system is offered in a scalable form which is
optimal for large critical infrastructure operators such as
airports or refineries as well as for hotel owners and private
wealthy individuals that wish to protect themselves against
drones.
Our target audience:
Advanced Protection Systems is mainly looking for
customers to buy the SafeSky system and for distributors to
represent APS in the Middle East.
Why us:
Advanced Protection Systems won a NCBiR grant (Polish
R&D grant) for having developed the system.
APS were awarded in 2016 and 2017 by the Polish Ministry
of Defence.
APS received seed funding from a private investor in
Poland to start spin-off Advanced Protection Systems that
develops and commercializes the SafeSky system.

DUNE is a Small-Medium Enterprise operating since 1980
in R&D, aerospace, defence, underwater acoustics, robotics,
industrial control and communications.
Over the last 37 years, DUNE focused on the design,
simulation and development of HW and SW processing
architectures for hard real-time systems on multi-core and
multi-processor platforms (Radar, Sonar and Satellite
Systems, Robotics, Industrial Control Systems, Inertial
Navigation Systems), wireless communication and design &
development of dedicated HW solutions for real-time
purposes.
Our product:
ARIANNA is a localization system for pedestrians, designed
to pinpoint and track the elements of a squad of operators,
seamlessly passing through mixed GPS-denied/available
areas, in unknown environments. ARIANNA has the
following key features:
zero-touch operation, wear-and-forget use;
no need of external location-aiding infrastructures,
deployed in the environment;
no need of a priori knowledge of the environment, pre-
operation setup or calibration, operator-dependent training
phases;
seamless use of GPS information, if any;
it can be used to estimate the floorplans of unknown
buildings and underground areas;
its processing is light enough to be hosted in a
commercial smartphone or in a small box.
The ARIANNA system is made up of two small devices; the
first is worn by the user and the second is located at the
remote station in charge of the Command and Control task.
The communications protocol between the two devices can
be adapted to virtually any radio standard suitable for the
customers.
Our target audience:
The company would meet potential customers of the
ARIANNA system, such as Government Agencies and
Companies managing Homeland Security, first responders,
firefighters and Law Enforcement Units.
DUNE is also seeking Companies already working in the
realm of security/safety or Companies that have developed
systems/applications that can be seen as complementary to
ARIANNA.
Why us:
A Customisation of ARIANNA system has been selected
and adopted by one of the most important Agency of the
United Nations, dealing with the safety of Critical
Infrastructures (presently ARIANNA is equipping their
inspectors).
ARIANNA won (in 2016) the final phase of the European
SMART@FIRE pre-procurement project for the firefighters
of four European municipalities.
ARIANNA tracking systems has undergone countless
experimental trials and got the first commercial
procurements by THALES, back in 2013.
Once reached a “beyond-state-of-the-art” maturity level, in
2016 and 2017, the systems performed a series of
demonstrations in China, France,
Taiwan and UK.
ARIANNA was ranked first at the
Microsoft Indoor Localisation
Competition 2016 in Vienna.

Excellence” and a grant of €50 000

Developed in association with Jaguar Land Rover and the
University of Surrey, wherein the former had identified an
acute problem of protecting high-value data and IP across
collaboration environments, with the latter supplying the
patented algorithm (its origins from within GCHQ),
GeoLang was tasked with devising a commercial solution to
address the previously unresolved issue of IP theft and
misuse - thus concluding in the Ascema platform. Since
then, our ambition has been focused on utilising Ascema’s
core aptitude – information Management & assurance –
and exporting to the global market.
Our product:
Ascema works by automatically classifying and recognising
snippets of sensitive or classified content created, shared
and edited by users across on premise, cloud and email
environments. With prescribed interventions for real-time
remediation and automated classification, Ascema offers a
simple to use solution to control the flow and copying of
high value content within an enterprise’s network and
external collaboration environments. Ascema also detects,
protects and remediates on PCI and GDPR data.
