The situation of job is different in the north, centre and south of Italy: high levels of unemployment in the South and low levels in the North, while central Italy is characterized by intermediate levels of unemployment.The average levels of Italian unemployment have recently been between 20% to 25 % on average.
Work in Italy
Today almost 60% of the entire Italian population work in different sectors. The graph below indicates the percentages of employment in every economic sector.
YOUTH EMPLOYMENT
In the next years there might be an increase in the demand for:• skilled workers in mechanical and electronic engineering;• hotel and tourism personnel (receptionists, cooks, waiters
and waitresses);• sales and financial personnel, building technicians,
mechanical engineering ( electricians, plumbers, fitters and service engineers)
• qualified care personnel, particularly nurses.
•The development of agriculture comes from recent mechanization, which has led to extensive production of cereals, fodder and sugar beet.
. On the hills we produce many fine wines like Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave and the Prosecco of Conegliano.
• Apples, pears, peaches and cherries are cultivated everywhere. .
PRIMARY SECTOR
• Fishing and aquaculture (eels and sea breams) are very well developed and lucrative.
• The breeding of cows, pigs and poultry is diffused in all Veneto..
• Veneto is the Italian region with the highest
percentage of people employed in industry, especially in wool, chemical and mechanical production..
INDUSTRY
• In the city jobs can be found in the fields of banking, insurance, commercial services and tourism.
• In the countryside and on the mountains jobs come from typical activities such as restaurants, bars and leisure time: here waiters, cooks and front-office employee are welcome.
• In Rosolina Mare, Albarella and Sottomarina we can find jobs in the field of tourism such as translator, lifeguard and barman.

Many young people can also work as lifeguards and in this case they should be able to:- deal with people of all ages -swim very well-keep calm in difficult situations

The skills required for this job are:-Know foreign languages-Be able to socialize and communicate -Good organizational skills - Be able to deal with groups
Youth work in Italy
We asked some students from our school to answer a questionnaire about their job experiences. The questions were about:
- The type of the job;
- How long they have worked;
- If they have been paid;
- If they want to keep that job;
- What they want to do in the future.
We interviewed 102 students.
