During these 30-minute services, we gather together to sing, pray, and share in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

NEW CHOIR ROBE CAMPAIGN

We are asking the congregation to prayerfully consider helping us fund the purchase of these robes, which are $165 apiece. Donations can be made in honor or in memory of a loved one. Checks can be made out to the Newnan FUMC

COMMUNITY WELCOME HOUSE NEEDS

Ziploc bags (any size), drinking glasses, light bulbs, trash bags, mops, brooms, cleaning buckets, powdered laundry soap, baby wipes, liquid dish soap, paper towels, bar soap, feminine products, shampoo & conditioner, tooth brushes,

toothpaste, and diapers (all sizes).

Items can be dropped off in the Parish Hall under the CWH poster against the wall.

Last day to donate is September 14th!

Holliday-Dorsey-Fife House Museum & lunch at Chick-fil-A Luau Thursday, September 4 | 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Spend the morning touring the museum in Fayetteville. The antebellum house has

long been a city landmark for Fayetteville. The house was built in 1855 by Dr. John Holliday, uncle to “Doc” Holliday, occupied later by Solomon Dorsey, a colonel in the Civil War, and then lived in by Robert Fife, a former Fayetteville City Council member. It also shares association with Margaret Mitchell, Dr. Crawford Long, and former Governor Dorsey (visit hdfhouse.com for more info). Following the tour, lunch will be at Chick-fil-A’s newest restaurant, CFA Luau. Cost: $12 for the museum | RSVP by August 25th online or by calling the church office

In late September, we will begin another training class for Stephen Ministers. In it, trainees will: Be equipped to provide high-quality, Christ-centered emotional and spiritual care to others; gain insight into the thoughts, feelings, and actions of people who are hurting; experience tremendous personal

PICTORIAL DIRECTORIES

Church pictorial directories are available in the church office during the week and from Karen’s office on

Sundays. They are $5 each to offset the cost of printing.

Digital copies are also available for those that prefer at the same price of

$5.

PRESCHOOL NEWS

Our last week of Preschool Summer Enrichment was themed “Around the World in 4 Days!” The children visited four different countries in four days: Australia, China, Mexico, and Italy. They ate food from those

countries and received a passport that was stamped each day. They also learned about those countries through games, costumes, music, and by viewing landmarks and art that you would find there (See pictures on page 7).
