Michael Ford rang the bell for his parents attaining US Citizenship.
The Honorees for Emergency Services day each received a night's stay at the Westin St. Francis, a $300 check for a night on the town, and a commemorative plaque.

Rescue Captain Andy Zanoff
Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White introduced Rescue Captain Andy Zanoff who was honored for the Fire Department's Mass Clinic Vaccination Plan which was used as the basis for the H-1-N-1 response. Captain Zanoff was the lead vaccinator for the San Francisco Sheriff's Department's mass clinic and
developed their vaccination plan. Captain Zanoff also responded to the Police Department Physician to vaccinate police officers and detectives.
Senior Deputy Dwight Gunn
Sheriff Michael Hennessy introduced Senior Deputy Dwight Gunn of the Sheriff's Department who was honored for his exemplary service to Peer Support and the Parents Education Network. Peer Support is a group of Sheriff's
Department members who provide intervention and counseling for employees in crisis. The Parents Education Network is a coalition of parents collaborating with educators, students and the community to bring academic success to students with learning and attention difficulties. Deputy Gunn has been a volunteer to the Parents Education Network for seven years.
Boatswains Mate Third Class Johnathan Porter
US Coast Guard Deputy Commander Thomas Cullen introduced Boatswains Mate Third Class Johnathan Porter who was honored for his effort in rescuing a distressed sailing vessel in pitching seas as well as treating a crew member for hypothermia and shock. Boatswains Mate Porter had to rig
and re-rig the sail boat in pitching seas in order to provide the tow rescue
of the vessel and its crew.

Assistant Police Chief Kevin Cashman introduced Police Officers Nick Ferrando and Nick Donati who were honored for their selfless bravery as they stopped the bullet proof
vest-wearing occupants of a van from having the ability to use the automatic weapons which were found in the van. The same area of the Tenderloin had experienced a drive-by shooting which resulted in seven injuries and one death just weeks before the van was stopped. One of the suspects is a prior murderer and another was arrested for murder in the second degree of a police officer.
The raffle combined the contributions from the Night in Paris and today's Rotary meeting. The winner, John Hoch, returned the $500 as a donation to support the Mines to Vines effort in Croatia.
DECEMBER/JANUARY MIXER by SF Rotary Webmaster December and January divisions joined forces to sponsor a wine and munchies reception at the penthouse office of The Ruben Law Firm. The "birthday mixer" was well attended, including a Clayton Valley Rotarian and
his wife who is interested in joining our club, who enjoyed the complimentary collation. The highlight of the night was the changing twilight view of Market Street from the "Denny Crane" balcony.

NIGHT IN PARIS by SF Rotary Webmaster
Dan Joraanstad hosted a 60 - minute exploration of the rich musical
heritage of France with singers Hilda Chevez and Twyla Ehmcke accompanied by the pianists from the Richard Rogers Piano Studio. There
was a full bar and appetizers to start the taste of France and a full buffet dinner of French food was offered for the guests to enjoy.
The event raised approximately $3,900 for Rotary Service which funds SR Martin scholarships, Habitat for Humanity and our Rotaractors.
