We like to cuddle. Cuddling is all about mood   and ambience. It's peaceful to lie in someone's arms in the dark with great music or even the low buzz of the TV (although that tends to distract me) in the background. It's nice to hear nothing but your lover's breath against the backdrop of the evening or early morning. Holding someone close in bed also makes you feel very secure with one another and the relationship.

We think we are good in bed. Men are taught that confidence solves just about anything. You can be making a total mistake, but as long as you're confident, it will turn out okay. This may explain why we are so clueless at what we are doing in bed, but we act like we know.

Getting too tipsy on a date is a turnoff. Some people turn into a completely different person when they are drunk. Let the other person learn about you while you're sober, before you get wasted with them. Alcohol should be introduced into the relationship slowly, but if a drink or two takes the edge off, and wine adds romance it's fine. Just don't push it too far.

Heavy makeup is a turnoff. I've always been the type of guy who appreciates a natural look as it is, and when a girl does her makeup well, the results can be magical. But the one thing that should never happen is excessive application: too much, too many colors, or if it's just a botched attempt at a good makeup technique. Seems like as time goes by, makeup makes like the earth and erodes and changes with weathering. There is nothing more ghastly than makeup run amuck in the morning after spending the night together.

We put pressure on ourselves to get married. Women tell me that they feel more pressure to settle down because they can't have children as easily past a certain age. I don't feel pressure in that sense, but I do fear that my appearance and my "game" (not that either are working for me presently) will fade as I get older. It's fun being one of the few guys in my group of friends who hasn't yet found love, but at the same time I wonder what is wrong with me...and I'm trying to decide if time is running out. I'm so far behind, I can't imagine being asked to meet on Sunday for brunch by a girl I've dated for a month, much less having a child or being married.

We want to bail the morning after a one-night stand. Do not linger in bed hung over. I'm foul when I'm hung over, so I am sure others are too. You can't contaminate someone's bed with that. Do everything you can to get home and fester in your own bed. People have things to do over the weekend. Give each other a hug, wish each

other well, don't say anything about calling, and don't believe him when he mutters that he will call you.

You'll never understand our sports obsession. I know some women love sports. But are they as obsessed with sports like guys are? I read about sports every day, and go over stats. And I do find myself telling my sisters about University of Virginia and Boston College teams — where they went to school. There is no reason women wouldn't understand or know sports like guys do if they were as obsessed. I just think guys across the board are more sports-obsessed than women are.

You're not the only one who engages in retail-therapy post-breakup. I have shopped during emotional low points. Wearing new clothes makes me feel confident. There is also a social aspect of shopping because you are usually with friends, consorting with other shoppers and salespeople. You've been spending a lot of money on your ex in the past; now it's time to spend some money on you.

Sex in the shower is overrated. I once tried this, but the entire time I was trying to contort my body so that I could get everything inserted correctly. That "up against the wall" variation is tougher than it sounds. The entire shower apparatus is so slippery, and then you have soap all over the place. It's a danger zone. Plus, I do my best to keep my bathroom clean, but I don't think I'd ever want to have sex anywhere near something called "mildew."

We do think you're crazy sometimes, but only because it makes things easier for us. Once I accepted that women were "crazy" (many older guys had insisted they were for years), it seemed to take a huge load of pressure off me. No longer was I trying to rationalize moves that women made that got me into crazy analysis cycles. When I just throw it all out the window and dismiss it as "crazy," it makes it easier to deal. We don't really think women are insane, we just say it so we can be done thinking about their antics and move on.

Leave your baggage at the door. Guys are happy to help out their girlfriends with emotional issues. But if the baggage becomes apparent too early in the relationship, then a guy will probably bail. Also, baggage causes people to put pressure on or damage a relationship, so it may be doomed from the outset.

We are afraid of commitment. Commitment means that I've decided that the woman I'm settling down with is perfect and there is no one else out there for me. Commitment means I've found my soul mate, that I am completely secure with myself, and that there

should be no going back. I don't know about you, but all of that is pretty heavy. I think the old adage "Girls mature faster than boys" comes into play here. Commitment is a sign of maturity, and it just takes some of us longer.

Confidence is key in the bedroom. I know if a girl seems unsure of herself in bed, it gets distracting and starts to feel awkward. The best thing to do is to act like you have some experience, and not question anything. I think back to the advice my dad once gave my sisters and me when he snuck us onto the "premium members only" tennis courts at this fancy resort at the beach. While we played, security goons watched closely, and my dad could tell that we were nervous: "Just act like you are supposed to be here, and they won't ask any questions." Sure enough, it worked.

We're insecure about dirty talk. Once I've made it into bed with a girl, no way I'm going to let my stupid mouth wreck things. In fact, we've most likely made it to this point in spite of my mouth. There are so many incorrect things I could say, from weak to gross to just downright bizarre. Last thing I need is to give this girl some material for a girls' night conversation.

Sometimes, we do blame your bad mood on PMS. But if we're smart, we just don't say it. Honestly, sometimes a woman's anger does look hormonal. I have said something to a girl one day that she laughs at, but then a week later she bites my head off when I say the same thing. But I've learned not to make things worse by suggesting that she's PMSing.

We get jealous because we're insecure. If a guy feels like he does not deserve a woman or is not good enough for her, he will become jealous easily and worried that he's going to lose her to another guy. We hate when you try too hard to be one of the guys. It's pretty lame that my buddies and I invent words and languages and then giggle over them like schoolchildren. But what's even lamer: when some outsider tries to use the language, without the ability to contribute. That's what one of my old girlfriends did. Sex on the beach? We prefer the drink. The sea is very romantic, but I would be too nervous the entire time. There are all sorts of creatures out there. While walking in the ocean I've stepped on some unidentified crustaceous creatures and we've both scuttled along away from one another in fear. Maybe it's safer on shore? No way: because sand gets into everything. It has a mind of its own. Sand makes sex uncomfortable and even painful. My solution is to try to get a place by the beach and do it out on the porch where you can see and hear the waves: Sex at the beach, but not on the beach.

We play hard to get — and we know it. Sometimes, I just act like they have no chance, even though I might like them. I openly flirt with other girls in front of them, and talk about how hot other girls are in front of them. I make myself look really picky and difficult to get to. What guys don't like about girls??? Have you ever thought of it??? If not then it is high time you think of it now because the last thing you would want is your guy walking away leaving you with a number of unanswered questions. You may not even realize the reason behind it. Knowingly or unknowingly you could be doing a lot of thing that your boyfriend finds it annoying.. You might find a number of guys asking you out all the time. You might have even gone a step further by hanging out with the guy and things were moving on quite fine. When suddenly out of the blue you could find difficulty trying to keep the guy in your life. Ironically, you might find it impossible to hold on to the guy despite he being the person you have ever longed for.

In such a situation, it could be pretty confusing. You might begin to doubt your individuality and may even become quite frustrated. But that is not going to lead you anywhere. Instead try to get to know the things that you could be doing though unintentionally but must have probably annoyed the guy. Read on to know the things guys don't like about girls:

1) Men hate it when they are being dragged into a relationship. Some women get so desperate that they start pressurizing their men formarriage. This results into hounding about the relationship which most men find it very annoying.

2) Most of the men hate it when you talk about your ex boyfriend. At the same time, do not insult other women or your ex-boyfriend in front of him. This would only represent you as being insecure and they hate it.

3) One of the things that men hate the most is that women consider their men to be a mind reader. They expect their guy to understand and know everything without saying a word.

4) Guys don’t generally like girls who are too sissy. They hate girls who cry

every time the guys say something they don’t like.

5) Guys hate it when girls try to change them from the person they are. If you don’t like them why date them at the first place.

6) Guys want their girls to eat when they take them out for dinner instead of digging into the salad because they want to enjoy the food in their company.

7) Jealousy, spending too much of their money, etc are some of the things that guys don’t like in women. Though they will never speak out loud enough to be heard but keep yourself putting in their shoes and you will realize it.

Guys prefer women who are bold, confident   and sporty but again they do not like girls who always try to be right and keep fanning their ego. Always remember that instead of being right and single all your life, it is always better to be wrong and happy. Grab girls by the hand and just take them with you and where you want to go.6- Lead too much. Lead but don’t exaggerate – it’s all about sensibility. Think twice before obliging her to see Alien vs. Predator with you.7- Don’t call. Chat is cool, SMSs are nice – but use the phone and use it often.8- Smell bad. Shower often, clean your clothes and use cologne.9- Are too egocentric. I also have a big ego – yet sometimes I’ve to keep it for myself. Else you’ll look weak-willed and they girls leave you.13- Doesn’t get along with her friends. No matter how ugly, ignorant and stupid her friends are, if you like a girl try your best to get along with them.14- Have a small penis. Many say ‘size doesn’t matter’ , but personally I’ve yet to meet one girl in my life who doesn’t care about size. 20- Are ignorant. Read some books, know your maps, get out to the world. You can’t be sexy if you don’t know where Australia is.21- Looks too bad. Girls are not as superficial as we men are, but they still want to be with attractive boys. Try to look your best.22- Are unpopular. Don’t be the anti-alpha – if most people dislike you, girls will stay away from you.23- Have no ambitions. You need to be fighting for something – to have a big dream or one big project you want to do. o Your hair: Again, wash your hair 3-4 times a week. Use a shampoo that is good for your hair. Use hair conditioner and, once or twice a week, pamper your hair with a hair mask. Brush your hair 2-3 times a day, but not too often; it will get oily, or make the ends split. Get a haircut every 4-6 weeks, even if it's just a trim. Another important thing is to change its style. o Your eyebrows: They should be plucked neatly and arched all the time. If you haven't done your eyebrows before, go to a professional; they will shape them properly, and you can ask for advice on how to do it yourself.

o Your eyes: You need to take good care of your eyes. Cool applications, such as cucumber slices or cold tea bags, will help reduce the dark circles under the eyes. Do it twice a month.

o Your lips: You have to have sweet, hydrated and soft lips. Keep your lips conditioned and exfoliated. Honey and butter are really good for your lips; keep them on for 5 minutes or so, then wash away. Keep lip balm/chapstick with you, but don'tover-use it. That's how you lose your lips' natural moisture and then you'll have to rely on those products. Don't use gloppy lip gloss or bright colors. Guys tend not to like too much makeup.

o Your nails: While nail polish is not necessary, keep your nails trimmed neatly, clean, and hang-nail free. If you want nail polish, go ahead and experiment with the pattern, just keep them clean and nice-looking.

Let's be honest. It seems there are books, magazines and talk shows

focusing on helping men understand women. Most women feel that men

don't care one bit about our feelings. But, what about helping women

understand men? Where do we go for information about what men really

want and need?

Women seem to have gotten so caught up in our own feelings that we

overlook the fact that there are things we just do not understand about

men. Knowing that women have their own thoughts and opinions on this

subject, I decided to go straight to the source. Men. I posed a very simple

question to some men I know. "What do you think women need to try to

understand about men?" These were the main responses I received.

The main response was, as we women would expect, men want sex. Why? It

feels good. Other good reasons for sex include: 1. Sex is the main way a

man shows his love and interest in a woman; 2. Sex is a good way to show

your man you love and are interested in him; 3. Sex relieves stress; 4. Sex is

a way to escape the daily grind of life. But, let me re-emphasize, the number

one reason men want sex is simply, sex feels good.

Apart from sex, here are a few other things women can consider.

One of the things that really bothers men is the fact that women seem to

think they should just "know things". Men say women want to drop hints

and send little messages, expecting them to know exactly what is on our

minds. Unfortunately ladies, that's just not happening. Men say they never

know what those hidden messages are until it's too late. If you have

something on your mind girls, come right out and say it.

Another thing is, contrary to popular belief, men say they are not

insensitive. Those times it seems as if men are not listening, they claim they

really are. They just suck at showing it. If they don't respond the way

women would like for them to it's not because they don't care about how

you feel. It's just that men respond differently from women because that's

what they were taught to do. From the time they were little boys they were

taught to be tough and not let their emotions rule their lives. So, after years

of practice, they have finally managed to unwittingly put aside most of their

emotions.

Men would ask that you forgive them for seeming dismissive. It's not that

they don't want to hear what you have to say, it's just that they don't want

to spend days, or even hours, discussing it. They don't mean to interrupt

you, which they admit happens more than they would like. They just want to

get right down to the problem and fix it as quickly as possible. Then, once

the problem has been addressed they want to let it go and never think about

it again.

Men also want women to know, although they hate admitting it, that they

are fragile too. Men say they need to be more than just a guy to us. They

want and need to be "The Man" in our lives. They enjoy having their egos

stroked. They want to feel as if they are "King" of their kingdoms, even if we

don't necessarily agree. Men ask that women make them feel important and

let them feel in-charge, at least some of the time.

The final thing men say is that they really hate to be criticized in public.

They ask that if you must criticize, please do it in private. It's not that they

think they are never wrong, it's just that they don't want the whole world to

know that they're not always right.

What do men seek in a relationship?

Well, I'm sure that is one question which would have given many a woman a sleepless night indeed. After all, 'men' and 'relationships' happen to be two parties which, since ages, have been notorious for not being able to get along well with each other. A whole lot of women, for years on end, have struggled to decipher the mind of a man once he's in (or on the verge of getting into) a relationship. At times, I really wonder just how many women are really able to understand what exactly it is that men want in a relationship. To be honest, (and yes, I'll be very honest throughout this article), I don't really blame them for their predicament. 'Coz although it is a globally accepted fact that Eves are the more complex and complicated of the Creator's creations; the moment you throw in the word 'relationship', suddenly the entire scene changes, and it's the Adams who instantly turn into paranoid princes.

Now don't get me wrong. It's not that we men are phobic when it comes to commitment, or for that matter, marriage. It's just that when it comes to serious relationships, we do have our fair share of fears and feelings of insecurity (which ideally, we should share with our partners, and make things all the easier).

Unfortunately, this doesn't happen all that regularly, and that is only because most of the men are horrible communicators! So many a time, women end up perceiving our expressions, actions or feelings differently (which is bad), or negatively (which is even worse). That is why I feel like helping out the female community by providing a short sneak peek into everything that a man wants from his relationship. Read ahead, I'm sure it'll be an eye opener to some of you!

What Men Really Want in a Relationship

So what are men looking for in a relationship? Well, relationships are of different types, and naturally, the things that men look for in a relationship vary, depending on the type, level and the progression of the relationship. For example, what men want in a girlfriend is rarely the same as what men want in a wife. When a man meets a woman on a first date, rarely does he have any expectations whatsoever. If the two of them hit it off, then that first meeting normally paves the way for many subsequent dates and a period of courtship. It is during this time when the seeds of the relationship are first sown. Slowly, as the relationship grows, progresses and develops, the guy begins to develop (both knowingly as well as unknowingly) certain wants ('expectations' seems a far too heavy word to use at this stage...) towards his girl.

As the relationship grows further and prospers, the guy and the girl begin to reach a certain level of commitment. Once a couple is 'committed' towards each other, individual wants and expectations begin to materialize and take shape. As the committed couple naturally move towards marriage, wants, expectations and

relationship requirements undergo a series of updatings and modifications. Contrary to what some may believe, this 'evolution' of relationship wants and needs does not end with marriage. Rather it is a lifelong process and one which keeps on happening throughout the lifetime and the duration of the relationship.

Over time and as their relationship grows, a woman may get a fair idea of what her man wants. However, it is equally (if not more) important for her to understand what it is that he really needs. What her man wants, may not always be what her man needs. And as mentioned earlier, with men being naturally bad communicators, at times it is quite tough for a woman to differentiate between a 'want' and a 'need'. So here are a few tips to help you ladies out.

From Their Girlfriends

What men want in a girlfriend, is usually a pretty damsel who looks hot, dresses cool, and is a whole lot of fun. They desire someone they can be comfortable with and comfortable around. They want someone who's adventurous, maybe even a prankster, someone whose idea of fun can be something as wild as bungee jumping. They prefer to have a lady who is not bogged down with the realities and pressures of everyday life. They want someone who likes to party, hang out and in general, live life in a carefree manner without worrying too much about the future.

In a Marriage

Once a man is married (or committed), what he seeks in his partner undergoes a sea change. Also, from here onwards, the gap between 'want' and 'need' only widens, and there can be several instances when what men want is not always what men need (at that particular point of time, that is).

What men need in a marriage (or a committed relationship) is someone who will love them in spite of the crazy beings that they are. What a man needs in a wife is a woman who cleverly understands the words that her husband doesn't say, rather than those which he does. What a man needs in a wife, is a woman who, despite not having any affection for sport whatsoever, enthusiastically cheers him on at his weekend game of football with the guys. Many a time, what a man wants in a relationship, is to feel like the knight in shining armor; the typical masculine macho male who is strong, mighty, and protective of his partner. However, what a man needs in a relationship, is a partner who is not meek and is not afraid to stand up and take over the reins when her man is low on morale, self belief or plain confidence. What a man needs in a life partner is a woman who, in times of need, can boost his confidence, his self-esteem and can make him feel good about himself. What a man needs is for his woman to love him from the bottom of her heart, and stand by him through thick and thin.

As I end this article, here is what personally I think of this subject. 'What a man wants in a relationship' is not really quite as important as 'what a man needs in a relationship'. What a man needs, is a beautiful woman who loves him unconditionally,

wholeheartedly, who is the apple of his eye, and who, apart from being just a girlfriend or a wife, is more importantly also his best buddy. You just don't have be intense about it. Guys don't do well with dramatic scenes. Less drama, the more you'll get out of them.

o 6Don't tell them everything they want to hear. Guys can be a bit insecure, but they can quickly grow an ego as well. Don't always tell them the things they want to hear, especially if they're feeling a little too good about themselves. I think women need to help balance a guys mindset. When they're a bit too down, they can say the right things to help boost them back up. Nothing is better than receiving a compliment from a girl you're into. However, if they're getting a bit too full of themselves, you need to back off a little bit. Humble them. Keep them balanced, and don't let them feel they can take you for granted. Going back to what men want, it will help to work with a few assumptions about the

nature of the male. What makes him tick? What are his hot buttons?

Dr. John Gray who wrote Mars and Venus on a Date (Harper Collins, 1997), said that

men are like blowtorches while women are like ovens. If a woman knows this

women, poor creatures, think he is.

When you’re feeling emotional, one good practice is not to argue. Instead, say you’ll

discuss the matter once you feel better and more composed. It’s also a good way to

avoid saying hurtful things you might regret later.

What Men Want - Four Levels of Attraction

Dr. John Gray’s insights on a male’s four levels of attraction might also help us decipher

what men want. Being familiar with the psychology of the male will clue us into our own

behavior and teach us how NOT to make his interest wane.

Level one: Physical Attraction 

This is the lowest level for a man, regardless of age. Younger men will think of a woman

in physical terms, while older, more mature men will also be physically attracted to a

woman, especially if they’re on the rebound. Physical attractiveness is important for the

male. Women should understand that this is the most preliminary stage of the dating

game. They should not think that the next logical step for a man is to propose marriage.

maturity and appreciates it.

Level four: Soul Attraction 

Dr. Gray says that at this level, a man’s heart opens. Finally! Love’s on its way, and the

Here's the standard line on men: We're simple, straightforward, limited-and

usually perfectly happy to leave it there. Why? Because it keeps your

expectations of us low. But here's the single biggest thing women don't get

about men: Masculinity is a complicated performance we agree to in order

to be seen as men. Unfortunately, that performance is more designed to

conceal than reveal us. For instance, it's easier and more "masculine" for us

to talk about the great sex we had rather than describe the great

conversation afterward. So, a woman ends up knowing the male script, but

not the man. Breaking character, then, I give you (in random order) 10

things he wishes you knew about him.

1. Even Men Like Compliments Every Once in a While 

Real guys, or so the story goes, don't need praise. Especially not about

girlish things, like if those jeans show off our assets. But the truth is, men

enjoy a little well-intentioned objectification. A squeeze of the biceps and a

lingering stare when we reach for the top shelf-these remind us of what

attracted you to us and appeal to our Darwinian sense of selectivity (i.e.,

what keeps you choosing us over the other monkeys). It also makes it OK,

even desirable, to send a little objectification your way, too. And just to be

clear, the praise doesn't need to be physical. In fact, it's important that

women commend those things masculinity tends to belittle, like if we're

good cooks or get passionate about foreign films. Tell us, too, when we've

been a good father, a caring son or a helpful husband. Watch how much

faster the toilet gets cleaned.

2. We Are Brutally Honest Because We Care 

We know that, at times, tact can be the only four-letter word that doesn't

describe us, but women need to rethink their reactions to male candor. Men

lie and obfuscate with people they have no interest in. The art of BS-and

indulging others with their BS-is how we get through the day. But with you,

lucky you, we want to forget all that. We want to tell you why your mother

It is sad to say that equality in our times means adopting the worst of both

sexes: Men get more sexualized and women can be cruder. And while no

checked off the rest? If he let the kid go to his friend's with a stained shirt

but made sure to spend time on his science project, is there a point to

mentioning it? Women should remember to give credit where credit is due.

10. Fathers Are Just as Important as Mothers  

It can seem, at times, that the world elevates the feminine over the

masculine and that the lessons men can impart are outmoded or regarded

as Neanderthal. But when a bully is picking on your son,

your husband showing him how to throw a punch is not nonsensical. Or if

your daughter has an athletic talent, his testosterone-fueled guidance may

What the Hell Happened?!

If you feel like you sound stupid when you talk to women, don't worry, you do.

In a recent study, men chatted with attractive women and then were subjected

to basic tests. They failed miserably. And when we say "basic tests" we don't

mean fourth grade math, either. We're talking not being able to remember your

own address (unless you were asked to take a woman there, right, killer?)

"Sorry, it appears I have punctured my copy of the test with my boner."

Unsurprisingly, the more attractive you find a woman, the worse this effect is

and the stupider you will sound when talking to her. The scientists didn't go so

far as to say what everyone was thinking (that the effect is caused by blood

flowing away from your brain and directly to your junk), but women suffered no

such memory lapses at all when tested after chatting with handsome studs like

you.

However, one of the scientists did say the difference could be down to the fact

that women are interested in things other than looks while men are

"reproductively focused," which is a much more tactful, scientific way of

saying, "Dudes get easily distracted by the thought of boning."

#5. Acting Interested

OK, maybe you were putting yourself out there too much. After all, in this day

and age, for better or for worse, women sometimes like to make the first move

right?

So, instead of going up to a lady and moronically chatting away, you instead

decide to just lean coolly on the bar and smile at the ladies. That way, in their

own time, one of them can come over to you and the flirting can commence.

Except that none of the ladies you are so very obviously acting interested in

ever approach you. What could you be doing wrong now?

It's definitely not the hat.

We really enjoy mocking the "Pick-up Artist" community, where guys like this...

...hold seminars on how to reel in women by acting like you don't like them.

And dressing like a douchebag.

But research shows there is a least a little bit of a factual basis behind their

bullshit. In his book The Game, journalist Neil Strauss entered the world of the

pick-up artist and learned one important thing: Women like men who ignore

them. According to his experience, your best bet at getting a girl is walking up

to her group and completely ignoring her, while chatting away to her less

attractive friends.

Even if those friends are men.

We would write that off under our normal rule of "don't believe anything that is

also believed by a man in a furry tophat" (and it's saved our lives more than

once), but another study came up with hard numbers.

The dating site OKCupid.com actually went through their database of pictures

men had submitted, and tracked how many contacts each yielded. They studied

7,000 photos and determined that men who didn't look directly at the camera

in their profile pictures received more messages on average than men who did.

About 50 percent more, in fact, if said picture combined the looking away with

an expression of disinterest (smiling drove down the effect some, but still not

as much as eye contact).

See? No eye contact.

No word on how many of those messages were from cam show robots, but still.

Now, obviously you can't take this to its logical extreme ("I'll get tons of women

if I just never get within 10 miles of one! That's the ultimate expression of

disinterest!") because clearly the men in the study were also expressing the

fact that they were looking for a mate (or else they wouldn't be on OKCupid).

So it's not about total disinterest. The data suggests it's about somehow

showing that you're interested, but not in her.

#4. Dancing

So you've tried it the pick-up artist way, but quickly found that sitting in the

corner acting like you don't like women failed to score you any tail. (And you

peacocked it out with that feather boa and everything!) But you have a trick up

your sleeve: Your sextastic dance moves. After all, dudes have been getting

girls this way for thousands of years!

Come on, Rightie... just a few inches lower.

When you finally get drunk enough to hit the dance floor, in your mind, you're

Fred Astaire-ing the shit out of the place. Unfortunately, what you're actually

doing is some bizarre alt-new wave version of the robot that has every girl in

the room pointing and staring open-mouthed. And not in a good way. But it's

OK, because deep in your heart you know one day a girl, hopefully one who

looks kind of like Zooey Deschanel, will realize your dancing just means you're

a quirky free spirit and she'll have quirky, free spirited sex with you.

Fifty years later, you die alone.

What the Hell Happened?!

Dancing is a high-risk venture. Yes, there's a reason why dance clubs are

usually just an orgy waiting to happen. But if you dance badly, you'd have been

better off staying far away.

Scientists say if you suck at dancing, it signals to women that you're a bad

mating partner. It's a subconscious sign that your testosterone levels are lower

than average, which means you're not up to a lady's baby-making standards.

And your awkward moves on the dance floor may have evolved as a neon

flashing sign to warn women to steer clear of you and your inferior DNA.

Not evolutionarily fit.

This effect only increases as you get older. The awkward "dad dancing" you've

seen at every wedding you've ever been to and during that season that Taylor

Hicks won American Idol? Those guys were probably John Travolta clones in

the 70s and moonwalking in the 80s. But now that they're past their prime

sexually, they can't even do the electric slide without it turning into a raucous

display of awkwardness and sprained ankles.

Seriously, it's not a risk worth taking. Before you bust out the moves this

weekend, get yourself to a fertility clinic. If your sperm count is below 60

even realize you're doing it. Of course, most of the methods are totally outside

of your control and can only be done on accident.

Unfortunately, it turns out there are just as many things you're doing to repel

women, again without even knowing it. Don't blame us; it's science.

So you're in a club and--thanks to those eight shots of Jager, each of which you

swear is making you exponentially sexier than you were before you downed

them--you finally decide to approach the hot chick you've been leering creepily

at all night. You've got your game face on and an arsenal of pick-up lines that

would slay a Victoria's Secret catwalk.

With a perfect storm of raw sex appeal like this brewing all around you, it

comes as no surprise to you that the object of your carnal desires is flirting

back.

But then, just as you're preparing to land your plane at Bonesville International

Airport, she starts backing off. Somehow, the more you talk to her, the less

smooth you become. When she awkwardly ends the conversation five minutes

later you're literally babbling like a moron. A moron with a now totally useless

boner.

What the Hell Happened?!

If you feel like you sound stupid when you talk to women, don't worry, you do.

In a recent study, men chatted with attractive women and then were subjected

to basic tests. They failed miserably. And when we say "basic tests" we don't

mean fourth grade math, either. We're talking not being able to remember your

own address (unless you were asked to take a woman there, right, killer?)

"Sorry, it appears I have punctured my copy of the test with my boner."

Unsurprisingly, the more attractive you find a woman, the worse this effect is

and the stupider you will sound when talking to her. The scientists didn't go so

far as to say what everyone was thinking (that the effect is caused by blood

flowing away from your brain and directly to your junk), but women suffered no

such memory lapses at all when tested after chatting with handsome studs like

you.

However, one of the scientists did say the difference could be down to the fact

that women are interested in things other than looks while men are

"reproductively focused," which is a much more tactful, scientific way of

saying, "Dudes get easily distracted by the thought of boning."

#5. Acting Interested

OK, maybe you were putting yourself out there too much. After all, in this day

and age, for better or for worse, women sometimes like to make the first move

right?

So, instead of going up to a lady and moronically chatting away, you instead

decide to just lean coolly on the bar and smile at the ladies. That way, in their

own time, one of them can come over to you and the flirting can commence.

Except that none of the ladies you are so very obviously acting interested in

ever approach you. What could you be doing wrong now?

It's definitely not the hat.

We really enjoy mocking the "Pick-up Artist" community, where guys like this...

...hold seminars on how to reel in women by acting like you don't like them.

And dressing like a douchebag.

But research shows there is a least a little bit of a factual basis behind their

bullshit. In his book The Game, journalist Neil Strauss entered the world of the

pick-up artist and learned one important thing: Women like men who ignore

them. According to his experience, your best bet at getting a girl is walking up

to her group and completely ignoring her, while chatting away to her less

attractive friends.

Even if those friends are men.

We would write that off under our normal rule of "don't believe anything that is

also believed by a man in a furry tophat" (and it's saved our lives more than

once), but another study came up with hard numbers.

The dating site OKCupid.com actually went through their database of pictures

men had submitted, and tracked how many contacts each yielded. They studied

7,000 photos and determined that men who didn't look directly at the camera

in their profile pictures received more messages on average than men who did.

About 50 percent more, in fact, if said picture combined the looking away with

an expression of disinterest (smiling drove down the effect some, but still not

as much as eye contact).

See? No eye contact.

No word on how many of those messages were from cam show robots, but still.

Now, obviously you can't take this to its logical extreme ("I'll get tons of women

if I just never get within 10 miles of one! That's the ultimate expression of

disinterest!") because clearly the men in the study were also expressing the

fact that they were looking for a mate (or else they wouldn't be on OKCupid).

So it's not about total disinterest. The data suggests it's about somehow

showing that you're interested, but not in her.

#4. Dancing

So you've tried it the pick-up artist way, but quickly found that sitting in the

corner acting like you don't like women failed to score you any tail. (And you

peacocked it out with that feather boa and everything!) But you have a trick up

your sleeve: Your sextastic dance moves. After all, dudes have been getting

girls this way for thousands of years!

Come on, Rightie... just a few inches lower.

When you finally get drunk enough to hit the dance floor, in your mind, you're

Fred Astaire-ing the shit out of the place. Unfortunately, what you're actually

doing is some bizarre alt-new wave version of the robot that has every girl in

the room pointing and staring open-mouthed. And not in a good way. But it's

OK, because deep in your heart you know one day a girl, hopefully one who

looks kind of like Zooey Deschanel, will realize your dancing just means you're

a quirky free spirit and she'll have quirky, free spirited sex with you.

Fifty years later, you die alone.

What the Hell Happened?!

Dancing is a high-risk venture. Yes, there's a reason why dance clubs are

usually just an orgy waiting to happen. But if you dance badly, you'd have been

better off staying far away.

Scientists say if you suck at dancing, it signals to women that you're a bad

mating partner. It's a subconscious sign that your testosterone levels are lower

than average, which means you're not up to a lady's baby-making standards.

And your awkward moves on the dance floor may have evolved as a neon

flashing sign to warn women to steer clear of you and your inferior DNA.

Not evolutionarily fit.

This effect only increases as you get older. The awkward "dad dancing" you've

seen at every wedding you've ever been to and during that season that Taylor

Hicks won American Idol? Those guys were probably John Travolta clones in

the 70s and moonwalking in the 80s. But now that they're past their prime

sexually, they can't even do the electric slide without it turning into a raucous

display of awkwardness and sprained ankles.

Seriously, it's not a risk worth taking. Before you bust out the moves this

weekend, get yourself to a fertility clinic. If your sperm count is below 60

million/ml then skip the dancing and just chill at the bar.

Things Men Want to Hear – While women are fairly open about what they

want to hear, the things men wish women would say more often are rarely

discussed. Why? Our culture has denoted men talking about their feelings

as ‘weak’ and as a result many men don’t express what they want from the

women in their lives. 

That’s why in a long-term, monogamous relationship it’s as important that

That You Need Him

Everyone likes to feel needed, especially men. Perhaps it’s the “provider”

role, instinctual or drilled in their head by society, but most guys want to

feel like you need them. I’ve heard some of my male friends complain that

their girlfriends are too independent and make them feel worthless.

Sometimes, I think, letting him know you need him can be as simple as

asking him to help you open a pickle jar. I know that sounds silly, but small

expressions of his importance can go a long way.

You Laugh At His Jokes

The sound of your laughter is something he wants to hear! Men like being

goofy and making women laugh. Rather than rolling your eyes the next

time he tells a joke, listen to the whole thing and let yourself find the humor

in it. C’mon, laugh! No matter how immature the joke might be, if you find it

slightly amusing, just let yourself laugh.

That He Satisfies You

Almost every man I know has been insecure about his performance in the

bedroom at some point in time, especially when he first starts dating a new

girlfriend. At the end of the day, a man’s confidence revolves around his

identity as a sexual being. Let him know how much you enjoy being with

him and how great his performance was. It will do wonders for his ego.

Low Self Esteem

A woman who has low self esteem drive men away. Men aren't impressed

with a woman who has a ton of baggage. Men like to be around women who

don't have a large amount of problems. Men don't want to be around women

who cry all the time. Men don't want to be around women who blame all

their problems on everyone else instead of correcting it.

Controlling

Some men don't like controlling women. Who wants to be reminded of their

nagging mother? Controlling women don't impress men. Men who are

controlled just lie and sneak around behind the persons back. It makes him

want to spend less time around you. Controlling women come across as

having insecurity issues and bad news. Men will never stay with a

controlling women forever nobody how good you are. Men shouldn't be

treated like a child by women. Women should treat a man like a man

instead of a little child all the time.

Clingy

Nobody wants to be around a person who is too clingy. Nobody wants to

date someone that reminds them of a little child. Men don't want to be

around somebody who constantly needs to be paid attention to. Clingy just

turns men off completely. Men like to go out with the boys every once in a

while without the women around.

Unemployed

Men don't like to be around unemployed women. Men don't like women who

uses them for money. A man wants to know that a women can take care of

herself. She needs to have a good job history. A woman who hops from job

to job isn't very impressive. If she can't keep a job then she probably can't

keep a man. Don't ask to borrow money from your man. Don't tell him about

your money problems. It isn't his problem so therefore he doesn't care.

No man wants to be with a woman who runs home to mother. Nobody wants

to date a momma's girl just like women don't want to date a momma's boy.

One needs to learn that it is time to grow up and stop running to momma

A man and a woman should be careful of not invading into each other's personal space too much. Men sometimes do not like the self centered attitude of women. Women are sometimes so worried about themselves that they forget there are other people around. Over possessiveness, jealously and undue interest in other men are certain traits that a man dislikes in a woman.

Imagine you both having a coffee and suddenly a good looking man walks in. Your girlfriend suddenly starts to talk about him and gives undue attention and starts comparing you. While women do not and should torture themselves to look a certain way and be a certain size, a woman should invest her best efforts in staying in healthy physical shape- for herself and to please her partner. There is nothing wrong with men and women doing things to please each other, as long as it is done in a healthy manner and no one is being criticized in a hurtful way or having unrealistic expectations put on them.

Some Women are too worried about the materialistic things in life. They forget the finer points in a relationship and become too worried about that big car or a big house. This fact sometimes annoys men, especially if he is not able to fulfill her requirements or it seems like she is never pleased. To maintain a happy relationship, a woman should always try to understand the parameters of her partner and not push him too hard for materialistic

things. Spending too much money on jewelry, clothing and ignoring the needs of her partner sometimes disturb men and make him think of the relationship with doubt.

Another important factor that can play spoilsport in a relationship is the lack of interest in sex. After a certain period in relationship women tend to lose interest in sex. This is something that bothers her partner and leaves him confused. If there is a genuine reason it should be discussed between the partners to enjoy the bliss of togetherness.

the most logical explanation without asking any questions. Then when men try to

Two: Women love to make plans without consulting us first, just as we think that we are

going to have a handy weekend and just relax ourselves. Who should walk into crush

our spirit, only herself, with great news on how she is got other plans in mind. And when

we make plan to do something we get… Eh no you’re not your doing this instead…

Famous words, I told you during the week.. If you told us during the week we wouldn’t

have made our plans to relax for the weekend, would we..

Three: We don’t want to know your every step of the day. Women have a habit of

saying, guess what happened to me today… What happened honey ? thinking you

would just tell us the actual event of what happened. But no you tell us everything from

the minute you left the house all the way up to what happened and everything in

between… And you then wonder why we don’t listen to you… Just give us the facts we

don’t want to know what kind of trouble you had finding a parking spot, or how much of

a bitch your boss is or if a work college wore the same clothes as you… we just don’t

want to know.

Four: We hate your total disregard in our input in decisions. Women ask our advice and

then don’t take it.. For example … There is somebody talking about me in work and she

is a total bitch what should I do… Confront her and tell her how much of a bitch she is if

front of everybody and be little her just like she is behind your back.. Yeah I will thanks

I’ll do it first thing tomorrow… After work that day… So did you do it ? Eh no I never got

a chance.. how could you not get the chance she works beside you… Men confront men

and let them know what they think of each other all the time. That’s how its done,

usually when we have our differences a side we know where we stand and just get on

afterwards.

Five: We hate the way you question everything we do, we cannot leave the house

without telling you where we are going… Why do women do this and then accuse us of

being controlling… We don’t ask women where they are going or what they are doing

usually because it sparks an argument.. It’s just not worth the hassle to ask.

Six: Don’t ask us what clothes go with what because we can’t tell you, we don’t know

what you mean. All we can tell you is trousers go on your legs and a jumper or a blouse

will cover your boobs and you might want to put some shoes on. One of our shirts will

do for Saturday or Sunday mornings because this is all you will need. It is up to you

dress yourself up we wouldn’t have a clue… Sure whatever we say you just go with

something else.

Seven: Men hate shopping, especially clothes shopping. Again we don’t know what

colours go with what or what handbag goes with what shoes. The truth be known we

actually don’t care, the only thing on our minds is when is this going to stop, so I can

get home and relax. When men shop we know exactly what we want and just go for

those items, women on the other hand might have an idea of what they want but could

spend the whole day arising around different shops.

Eight: Stating the obvious is another great trait of the female of our kind. Women

always seem to say the most obvious thing in any event, such as something falling,

something breaking down or making a loud noise or almost everything. Here’s a few

examples… I couldn’t stop it from falling… It’s a bit obvious you couldn’t stop it if it’s

broken on the ground… We’ll have to clean that up… Well we are hardly going to leave

it there are we… That won’t fit in there… Right again honey it won’t sure look at the size

of it… I have come to the conclusion that they only state the obvious to buy them time

to see our reaction.. Yes honey I will fix it, I will clean it up, you broke it but sure just

because you stated the obvious and I love you, I will get it..

Nine: We hate interruptions if we are doing something, women will call men from the

other room and expect us to go to them if they want to talk to us.. Beckoned to

attention like a dog would be.. Come here I want to talk to you, no fear of her getting up

and coming to talk to you, oh no, we have to go to you. If men try and pull the same

trick we get answered by…. Well you know where I am, you come here i’m busy… We

are treated like dogs men and they see us as them too… After a while it becomes a

habit and when we want to talk to them or they us, we just get up and go without

thinking about it.

Ten: Women give out about the toilet seat being up constantly. Wouldn’t it be the same

job for us to put it down than it would for you to put up. We don’t ask you to put the

seat up when you are finished so what gives..

who monopolizes the conversation almost as much as to the one who does not

talk at all.

A man likes modesty, but he is disgusted with mock prudery.

Men talk very nicely to us, but they say some very disagreeable things about us.

In the time of holiday shopping, when we and our country cousins have a

monopoly of public conveyances, bazaars and stores, we furnish a fruitful

subject for unpleasant comment to lordly man.

"I have made up my mind to never resign my place in a car to another woman,"

I overheard a very fine looking man say to a lady, evidently his wife, in the

Broadway car recently.

As he made this remark he looked proudly and defiantly at several women who

were wobbling about in the car, holding to the strap with one hand and grasping

Christmas parcels with the other, and casting pathetic glances at all the men

who had seats.

"Why, dear?" questioned the wife, somewhat timidly, for the expression on her

husband's face and the sound of his voice suggested to her the nature of his

thoughts.

"Because women are so confoundedly selfish, thoughtless, stupid, indifferent,

ungrateful and disagreeable in public places," replied the man. "I grow to

despise them more every day I live. They are like a lot of hens running hither

and thither, fluttering their wings. in each other's eyes, quacking, cackling,

getting under people's feet and pecking at you if you try to drive them in the

right direction. If they would only carry out the hen nature still further, by going

to their roosts at sunset, it would be a relief. But you run against them at all

hours, everywhere, and it is getting worse every day. They are so beastly

impolite to one another, so selfishly thoughtless of everybody's comfort save

their own, that I am not going to sacrifice myself in future for a false idea of

gallantry. I am going to keep my seat and let the women wobble."

I was wobbling on a strap directly in front of the man who delivered this oration,

so that I received the full benefit of his remarks. He was a man of marked

elegance and refinement, a thorough cosmopolitan in appearance, and his voice

was that of a cultured gentleman. I felt that he was driven to this extremity of

speech by long suffering at our hands. His wife interposed a mild little objection.

"Not all women are like that, I am sure," to which he replied, "Well, no, but you

are about the only exception I have ever found to the rule," and after that, of

course, she would not argue the point, for nothing is so delightful to a woman as

to feel that she is the sole and only exception to a disagreeable rule in a man's

eyes.

I have questioned several men since that day on this subject, and so far every

one has agreed to some extent with the irate orator of the Broadway car.

One gentleman, told me that he saw better manners and less rudeness in a

crowd on lower Bowery, which waited three hours one day to witness a boxing

match, than he found the next day at the Union League Club "Ladies' Day."

I have set myself to watching you, too, my dear ladies, and I must confess the

men are right in their estimate of us.

A few weeks since I accompanied a young lady friend to a theatre box-office to

procure tickets.

A lady whose name is placed prominently upon Mr. Ward McAllister's visiting list,

stepped out of her carriage as we approached the theatre and preceded us to

the window of the box-office.

Behind us came two other people and when we had been five minutes in the

place a dozen persons were in line waiting to procure tickets. Mme. Fashion

settled herself in the window frame, took out her handkerchief and wiped a very

ordinary looking nose leisurely, searched for her purse, refolded some bills

which had became wrinkled in one of its compartments, leaned her forearms in

the window and asked the young man in attendance what chance she had for

obtaining good orchestra chairs for the next evening's performance. That

personage replied with the bored brevity of tone and cold calmness of

expression, usual with the box-office young man, and placed the plan of the

house before the lady.

She looked it over leisurely, commented on the seats sold, indicated the seats

she would prefer if they were not already sold, and finally to the immense relief

of the crowd of people waiting behind her, paid for several tickets, and after

again re-arranging her pocket book placed the tickets within it. But instead of

moving out of the line she leaned in the window again and began questioning

the bored youth about the play. She had heard that some changes were made in

the cast. Was it true? No! Well, how could such an idea get in circulation? Had

he not heard of it? Was he quite sure? Well, she was so glad to know the facts in

the case.

When she finally moved on, serenely unconscious that she had annoyed,

irritated and inconvenienced a dozen people by her selfish and inconsiderate

actions, I wondered what interpretation she put on the words she no doubt

mumbled every Sabbath, "Do unto others as ye would they should do to you."

No doubt, like many people, she supposed this sentence applied to great deeds

of charity or self-sacrifice. Instead, they apply to the every-day courtesies of life.

My dear women, if you would like to have men give you seats in public -places,

begin by giving one another seats. I think I could count on the fingers of one

hand the women. I have seen resign their places to more burdened or tired

sisters.

If you would like to have people courteous in crowded stores, begin by not

allowing the door to slam in the faces of those who follow you; do not stand in

the aisles of dry-goods establishments and chat with some friend and compel

other women to push past you, and, if some woman has the politeness to ask

you to let her pass, do not glare at her and stand like a great glazier until you

force her to be angry and rude. Do not endanger the eyes of people who climb

stairs behind you by the careless way you hold your umbrella or parasol.

If you see two friends who want to sit together in a car, and by changing your

position you can accommodate them, be thoughtful enough to do so, even if you

are a woman.

If you ride on an elevated road, get your nickel ready for your ticket before you

reach the window, and do not keep a crowd of tired people waiting while you

hunt for your purse and search for your change.

If you go to purchase theater or opera tickets, remember the feeling of the

people who are waiting to do the same thing, and do not imagine that it is your

right to monopolize the time, because you are a woman.

In fact "do unto others as ye would that they would do to you" in the small,

trivial daily events of life and you will be helping to elevate mankind and to

evangelize the world far more than if you ignore these small courtesies and wait

for some great "mission."

No doubt the lady I saw at the box-office of the theater that day is an active

worker in some Sunday-school or mission, and feels that she is doing her share

towards educating and benefitting poor human nature. Very likely she is giving

little talks to working girls on good conduct and proper deportment; and since it

is fashionable to be literary, it may be that she writes articles calculated to

instruct the benighted people who are not "in the swim" how to behave. But to

my way of thinking she would be doing a nobler work if she practised the small

decencies of life, the thoughtful politenesses which demand constant

unselfishness from morning till night, even if she never entered a Sunday-school

or mission.

The woman who keeps her good manners, her politeness, her courtesy for

society, or for her own home even, is not doing her duty as a Christian or a

refined woman. No matter how indifferent she feels to the "great unwashed"

masses, no matter how small a part the public has in her life, she owes it to her

sex to be thoughtful, polite and considerate of others when she is in public

places or 'conveyances.

Not till we "do as we would be done by" in these places as well as in the home

or church circles, can we expect courtesy and respect from men.

This technique may not sound terribly inspired but, believe me, if done properly it can literally take your breath away. If you're too shy to gaze openly, skip the toffee and think bouncing ball. Look away and at the other person who's joined the conversation, but every time they finish a sentence, let your eyes bounce back to the person you're interested in. This is a checking in gesture -- you're checking his reaction to what the speaker is saying -- and it lets him know you're more interested in him than the other person.

Get In Touch With Your Anger If you've been used to settling for less in a

relationship, there's something you need to do before you even think about getting your man back. Putting up with poor treatment from a man starts to build up as anger inside of you. You'll interpret this as feeling “hurt” by what your man says or does, when in fact you are upset with yourself for accepting improper treatment in the first place or because you became

sexually exclusive with a man before he gave you the commitment you wanted.

It's very possible that the anger you are now feeling is actually creating distance in your relationship, so you need to deal with that anger BEFORE you get your man back. If he says he don't know again, then pause and think it maybe something he has to work out. Then say, okay when you figure it out let me know. Then leave it alone and give him space. As in make yourself unavailable for a little while he maybe feeling smothered by you. The key is to know when to push and know when to give him space. Don't worry about if he breaks up with you during your space. Or looks to be with other women. As he might be testing YOU to see how much you will endure for him. When you had enough of the bullshit call him on it. Say to him are we or aren't we together? If he says no make it clear to him you won't be waiting around for him anymore and your moving on. Yes you maybe hurt but guys respond to aggression. If you say it with enough aggression he will believe it and then if he really wants you he will claim you.
