Boston Duck Tours

This tour should begin early in the day. Tickets are discounted for us students to $27.00 each. Once our friends become better acquainted with Boston through the duck tour, we can continue with the rest of the fun and excitement we have in store for them!

Sights include“the golden-domed State House to Bunker Hill and the TD Banknorth Garden, Boston Common and Copley Square to the Big Dig, Government Center to fashionable Newbury Street, Quincy Market to the Prudential Tower, and more”.

Science Museum and New England Aquarium

Museum of science in Boston offers tons of exhibits, cool shows and you even get to do your own experiments! Tickets are discounted for Umass Boston students.

The trip to the museum should be the day after the duck tours

 

The New England Aquarium offers shows and a nice walk under the sea to observe your favorite water life!

This trip should be right after the duck tours because the boat ends right at the aquarium. How convenient!

Blue Man Group

•Over 17 million people from locations such as New York, Boston, Chicago, Tokyo, Berlin, etc. have experienced a Blue Man Group live event.•Community, the Dean, Martine, and the Scottish exchange students• Dependent on what days the show is scheduled•Charles Playhouse•We can look for student/group discounts on tickets. Depending on how far Charles Playhouse is from UMB, we can go as a group by train (or perhaps boat!) After the show, we could all go out for dinner at a restaurant nearby.

The Freedom Trail

Transportation: Public transportation from UMB to the Charles MGH stop and then take a short walk to beacon hill.

Who: The whole community can go or a group of individuals that are voted.

What: Visit historical sights and landmarks of Boston, allowing our Scottish guests to learn a more about the city.

When: The last day of the tour is the day our friends arrive. The tour starts at 5:30, but we should arrive there earlier.

Where: At Beacon Hill to see and learn the history behind the development of Beacon Hill and the role that Beacon Hill plays in Boston.

How: It cost only $12 per person. Transportation and food also won’t be too expensive.

Boston Town Crier Tours Boston Town Crier offers Foundation-approved tours of Boston's Freedom Trail at 9:30 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. every day. Additionally, they offer tours at 12:30 P.M.on weekdays. All tours leave from the Visitor Information Center, 148 Tremont St., Boston Common.

Picnic at the Common

All around you are beautiful trees, beautiful colors and a bustling city full of people to watch all while you enjoy your meal!

Take red line from the JFK station to Park Street where the Common is a nice five to ten minute walk away.

We can all grab lunch and look at the different boutiques at Qunicy Market. Maybe we'll be lucky to catch some sort of outdoor performance!
