HOMEWORK:
Your teachers will assign homework to you and you will receive
feedback on each lesson.
CERTIFICATE:
You will receive Certificate (7 ECTS) at the end of the course only if you attend at least 80% of the course! In case you are feeling
under the weather and cannot attend the class, please inform your teacher, classmates or someone at the International Relations Office.
THE OPENING CEREMONY
will be held on July 4, 2019, it will start
at 10:30am. There you will get to know
organizers and professors take a
placement test so that you can be assigned
to a group according to your Russian
language level and play ice-breaking
games. The ceremony concludes with a
tea party.
THE CLOSING CEREMONY
will be held on July 25, 2019 at 11:30am.
There you will receive 7 ECTS certificates of
completion, present powerpoints on topic “My
Omsk”, and play interactive game called
“Sights of Omsk city”. The ceremony
concludes with a tea party.

You will discover in the city
of Omsk numerous
historical and architectural
tourist attractions.
You will find out more about
a famous Russian writer
Fyodor Dostoevsky and his
time in Omsk. In 1983
Dostoevsky Literary Museum
was opened in this building.
Its exposition features a
history of the creation and
development of literary
traditions in Western Siberia
since the 18th century. It is
devoted to the life and works
of Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Usually these days our
students spend with OmSU
volunteers.
Historical and Cultural
Complex “Starina
Sibirskaya” (Olden times of
Siberia) is located in
Bolsherechye settlement 200
km. From Omsk. In these
objects there are museum
expositions that characterize
the traditional life of the
Siberian village, interactive
workshops and folklore
groups.

The natural park “Bird
Harbor” Free of charge
The only Multimedia Art
Museum in Russia that
represents the entire history
of our country from ancient
times up to the present day.

Omsk environment and birds’
migration in our region,
explore the park and also get
acquainted with some of the
complex issues involved in
ecological system of Omsk,
develop a greater
understanding of the
environment.

established in 1924. Its
collection contains over
25,000 items, the most part of
which is of global
importance.

traditional Russian shawls

History of the convent is
dark and dramatic. It goes
back to the end of 19th
century. During soviet time
there was one of the worst
camps in the USSR (colony
No. 8 Gulag), no remains of
the camp left.

Belov is located in one of
the most beautiful buildings
of wooden architecture of
the early 20th century. The
excursion will be concluded

Siberian pies.
One of the most modern
refineries in Russia and one
of the largest in the world.
The installed capacity of the
plant is 20.89 million tons of
oil per year.

Advice 1
Keep your documents safe: passport, migration card, boarding passes, baggage tags are very important!!!
Don’t lose them!

Don’t take taxi at airports/railway stations, use uber, yandex taxi.

Voltage in Russia is 220 v, Russian sockets may be different from yours, so be sure to bring adapter connector (if you need one).

You need to bring cash (Rubles, Dollars or Euros) to pay for the tuition (you might have some difficulties to withdraw a big
amount of money at once from an ATM), some of our international students were able to withdraw about 6000 rub. a day.

Be sure to follow these rules:
- No smoking in public area
- No drinking alcohol in public area
- Use crosswalk (zebra - зебра) to cross streets
- Always carry the copy of your passport with you in case the police stop you for identity check
- Also take photos of all your documents (just in case)

Upon arrival:
- Meeting at the International Office for registration at the Migration Service (please, bring your passport and migration card)
- Organizational meeting at the International Office in order to learn about University rules and regulations as well as about
Migration Laws

Accommodation is included in school fee
Bed sheets, towels are given and will be changed once a week
Kitchen is equipped with all needed utensils
