Introduction
It is the role of the company secretary to advise the directors of corporate, legislative and compliance matters.
What is a company secretary?
Since 6th April 2008 there is no longer a legal requirement to have a company secretary, although many Limited Companies appoint one to cover a range of job roles.
The company secretary is the named representative on legal documents and it is their responsibility to advise the directors of their corporate compliance obligations.
In most established companies the company secretary serves as a focal point between the board of directors, senior management and the company’s shareholders.

and annual general meetings. Filing with Companies House. Maintaining company records and
statutory books. Dealing with stock transfers and
dividends. Ensure security of the company’s
legal documents. Ensuring compliance with all legal
and statutory requirements.
Tasks
