*On the origin of man there are two versions: one says that the existence of many large rocks gave rise to the existence of man and another version says that was formed by the Spanish community.

*The first people who lived in this Municipality were the families: Segura, Lopez, Cornielle, Happy, Olivero, and Espinosa.

* At the rock operated one of the three rural schools that were in the country in the 50 s. These schools were offering the courses of: industrial arts, home economics, agriculture, and formal education is taught. The other two schools of this nature are located, one in Santiago de los Caballeros and the other in Higuey. The three schools were administered by the service of international cooperation.

* In April of 1961 the President Trujillo was to begin a project to improve all three schools, but was not carried out because of the overthrow of the president. The President Trujillo died on May 30 of the same year. The state of district of the city began in the period 1982-1986.
