The Irish name for the river Suir is Abhainn na Siúire.
The Three Sisters!

• The province where the river Suir is in Leinster.
• In Clonmel, the river Suir floods the local area after very heavy rainfalls falling in the up river catchment of 2,173km. The office of public works completed and installed a flood forecasting system which was used to forecast flooding in 2008 and January 2009!

• The River Suir at Waterford is as wide as the Thames at Westminster Bridge, the Vistula at Warsaw or the Neva's at St Petersburg.
Where it rises!
The River Suir rises in the Devil's Bit Mountains and flowing south
across the lowland of County Tipperary through at Thurles to the foot of the Knockmealdown
Mountains.
