SAFETY AND SECURITY - legistlation
If there is a risk for glass fragments to fall on people, laminated glass should be used
All outside panes of balconies must be laminated
Glazing which, if broken, would permit someone to release the locking devide should be laminated

What is the impact to glassprocessor?
1. Laminating market growth2. More coatings, paints and prints in laminates
3. More individual design projects
Glass processors will have growing, howevermuch more complex product mix
Laminated glass production flowwill get more complex – or will it?
Today, only similar sizes withsame glass type can be driven at the same time
The biggest reason is the furnace part of the line and the used heating method
Traditional: Radiation(+convection)
Different materials needdifferent settings due to reflection/absorbtion
With full convection laminatingfurnace the only parameter is theglass thickness
Total change toproduction management principles!
Convection does not care aboutthe material – forces heat transfer(multiple layers, painted/partiallypainted, Low-E etc.)
…And helps glass processors to copewith the more complex product mix
Easier production flow controlConstant quality with all glasstypes (no clippings)Recipe-free process
Lamination continuous it’s growth, take advantage of it!
