Bringing you the
latest in Youth
Ministry News!
Dear Junior High Youth and
Families,
This is an exciting time of year, as one
school year closes and we prepare for a
new one. To begin with, I would like to
welcome the new incoming 6th graders
to our program, as well as welcome
back the 7th and 8th graders. For those
of you who have not met me yet, my
name is Chris Gonzales and I am the
Junior High Coordinator for Youth Min-
istry, I work along with Teresa
Chiappone and our high schoolers to
bring you some great activities through-
out the year.
As you look through this newsletter and
the calendar of our activities, you will
see that we have an active ministry pro-
gram here at Saint Margaret Mary.
You will find events like our Ice Cream
Social on Friday August 25th which will
provide a great opportunity to meet us
and your fellow junior high students, as
well as being a whole lot of fun.
Here is a little game for you: I want you
to count up all of the frogs you see in
this newsletter and calendar. You will
have to find me at one of our events to
find out what your prize is for a correct
answer. This leads into the question,
why all the frogs, do we just have an
obsession with amphibians, well yes we
do, but there is more to it than that.
We want to help you grow in your faith
life, and one of the ways we do so is
called BULLFROGS. For an introduc-
tion to what BULLFROGS is all about,
you can attend Camp Bullfrogs on
Wednesday, July 19th, an all day camp
full of faith and fun. In addition, you
are invited to join us on Wednesday,
August 2nd from 6-8 PM for our first
BULLFROGS of the new year. Other
BULLFROGS meetings will be held
throughout the year on Wednesday
evenings, check your calendar for
dates.
There are many other events through-
out the year for you and your families
to join us for, whether they are Youth
Quake masses, Socials or Parent’s
Night Out. The more time you spend
with us, you will see that we are one
big family, and we want to foster our
families growing in faith. One exam-
ple is our Gather Family Formation
program, which will have an open
house on Sunday, September 10th at 3
PM. Following this is another great
family time, our Family Quake Mass
at 4:30. After mass, we ask that you
join us in McDonnell Hall for dinner
and time to socialize.
I would like to again welcome you to
our family here at Saint Margaret
Mary Youth Ministry, and I cannot
wait to see you throughout the year.
God Bless,
Chris Gonzales

Dear Junior High Youth and
Families:
I just wanted to introduce myself to all of you. I am
Teresa Chiappone, Directory of Youth, Young Adult
and Adult Formation. I have been a long-time parish
member and love our community. All four my own adult
children (31, 29, 28 and 23) have been through the
Youth Ministry and all four of my grandchildren (9,8, 6
and 2) have been baptized here.
I invite you and your families to check out our “Gather
Family Formation” program. This program is offered on
Sundays from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or Wednesday
nights from 5:45-8 p.m. This is a fantastic program that
gives families opportunities to be together in a meaning-
ful way and learn about our faith. BULLFROGS
(Junior High Leadership team) will still be offered on
many Wednesday nights. We also have Ice Cream
Open House for families.
I ask for your prayers and patience for our ministry as
we vision to keep it moving into the technology world.
You can find our youth ministry on Facebook, twitter
and Instagram along with its own website, SMMYM.org.
Of course we are also on the parish website under youth
ministry. My email is [email protected].
Please get involved and try something new. It is a great
ministry with wonderful people involved of all ages.
We are always looking for creative people to help with
website, marketing, advertising and eyes to supervise at
our events. We welcome new youth and parents. As
always my door is open if you have questions or ideas to
share.
Have a blessed rest of the
summer and start of the new
school year.
Yours in Christ,
Teresa Chiappone

Isaiah 43:19 With God’s Help and your support,
FMSC strives to eliminate starvation in children throughout the world
How you can help: Volunteer
Feed My Starving Children volunteers save lives by hand packing meals for malnourished children! Each meal has all of
the nutrients a starving child needs in a day and costs just 15 cents to produce.
Each volunteer packs an average of $35 worth of food—more than a box of meals—in an hour and a half session! That
will feed a child for 8 months!
In 2015, more than one million volunteers packed nearly 273 million meals!
SMM volunteer shifts:
Give
Time and Energy: Pack meals for a 1.5-hour shift at our facility 1071 National Parkway, Schaumburg, IL.
Your parents and/or guardians are encouraged to stay and help work also.
Donations: Consider purchasing a box of food for $35. Any donation will make a big difference to a starving child. At
15 cents per meal, we need to raise $6 million for this year’s expenses.
Pray
Feed My Starving Children is a Christian, nonprofit organization; please pray for God’s blessing of the packing site in
Schaumburg.
Pray for FMSC and starving children around the world.
Friday, September 22 8:00-9:30 pm and
Saturday, December 9 from 4:30 –6:30 pm
or 7:00-9:00 pm Please be on time!
