The 2 Witnesses – SummaryThe measuring of the temple scene establishes a providential duality; that the Lord’s people will be inwardly protected, and that they will suffer in this age. It also makes the connection to the fact that the church (the present temple of God) is the 2 witnesses, who speak prophetically.
That they are hated by the world so much that their demise or fall causes great rejoicing, but that only for a time because the Lord vindicates His own. In all this, some are converted. The rest
suffer God’s judgment.
