Technology in the classroom -Fears: •Losing control of the classroom content •Creating students that are widgets instead of creators •Not needing teachers anymore……

What is Blended or Hybrid Learning?

How can we as educators make this experience happen everyday in our classrooms?

21st Century students expect to work, learn and study whenever and wherever they want to

We are increasingly becoming collaborative, driving changes in the way students need to think about the world and how we structure projects.

Since all students are unique, technology in a hybrid teaching format is a tool that can be

used to reach a greater number of students based on their individual needs.

So where does the teacher fit in???

• Since information is everywhere, the quality of teaching will make a difference in the effectiveness of the learning.

• Having a Hybrid or Blended learning model (face to face and online), can leverage the online skills students have already developed independent of our schools.

• The many students will find it more comfortable to be working in their environment instead of someone else's.

Shifting from teacher-centered to student-centered education & engaging them by connecting the curriculum with real life issues.
