The Respiratory System By: Sophie McKeown
What is the Respiratory System?
The Respiratory system is a system which helps you breathe. It gives oxygen to blood and all through our body. It stretched out from your
nose/ mouth all the way to your diaphragm. The main components of the Respiratory System are around your chest area. We use our respiratory system when we exercise. If you are fit it means you have worked your respiratory system well
and it is getting stronger.
What organs are in the Respiratory System?
The Respiratory System includes the lungs (4), bronchi (10), mouth (2) , nasal cavity (1), the diaphragm (6) and the trachea (8).
Why do we need the Respiratory System
The Respiratory System is important because without it gives us oxygen.
Oxygen is the most important for keeping us alive because body cells need it for
energy and growth. Without oxygen, the body's cells would die and therefore so
would we.
