The Clinton Cotmry Agricultural Society has granted the use of its ground for the athletic sports and games for twenty-five per cent of the net receipts from admission fees. Mr. Fairbank, the representative of the eleven Grangers of the count}-, who are. preparing to take an active part in the celebration has asked that a small sum be allowed the society to assist in the expense of the Grange celebration. On Friday morning the water had gone down about three inches, making it now twenty-two inches below high w-ater mark. The water stands over^the dock at the rear of the Dock and Coal Com- pany's office. The breakwater was entirely submerged, b u t t h e line can now be seen altRough in places it is still under water. The south dock is entirely submerged, the water being about a foot higher than the dock. Considerable lumber has floated away and been twisted and shoved around somewhat. The water was about twelve inches higher than last year, and about seven fe^t, eight inches above low water mark. E. (>. Moore's boathouse, which floated away with the outgoing ice is still on the ( .mberiand Head -hore and N being rejoiced b> a new boat- house. D., the newly appointed pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of this city comes from Troy where h e h a s been in charge of the Fifth Avenue M. B. church. He graduated from the Bos- ton Theological Seminary in 1892, Joining the Troy Conference the same year he was ordained by Bishop Fos- ter in the Plattsburgh church of which he is now to be pastor. Four years ago he received his degree of D, i)., from Middlebury College. The new pastor i s a n active church worker a n d w a s a promoter o f t h e Methodist Social Union of Troy and vicinity, an organization composed of sixteen Methodist churches. At the conclusion of Dr. Grismer's reading of his last annual report as presiding elder of Plattsburgh Dit '-*t. Bishop Berry expressed the appve/' tion of the conference upon his suc- cessful term and said it could be ex- pressed in two words, "Well done." Each s e t o f apartments will contain six rooms a n d a bath room. Each kitchen is fitted with a stationary stone wash t u b a n d a g a s range. No pains will be spared to make the building as warm as possible, it being boarded inside and out. I t i s expected to be ready for occupation by Septem- ber 1st.
