As part of its education program, the American Red Cross recently launched a new online version of its Advanced Child Care Training course.
Red Cross• Designed for individuals 16 and older who currently work
as or have an interest in becoming a nanny, au pair, or babysitter, the self-paced course guides students through simulated scenarios that demonstrate child care routines and help them prepare for emergency situations.
A fee of $49 covers the 4.5-hour course and gives students access to a number of online resources, including resume and business card templates, lesson summaries, and age-appropriate activity ideas. Unlike the live Advanced Child Care Training course, the online version does not include the Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification, but participants can add it for a 10 percent discount on the original price, once they have completed the course.
