• I googled The Raven because it's one of my favorites. It's also American so it qualifies.

• Wishing to know more, I checked out its wiki page.

• The Raven, being one of my all time favorite pieces of literature, was the first thing I started with.

• Quickly I found the phrase "bust of Pallas". Pallas, I knew referred to the daughter of Triton, and childhood friend of Athena; whom Athena killed by accident and took the name for herself.

• After reading of the epithets of Pallas, it spoke more of Athena's family.

• Eventually it mentioned Poseidon.• Poseidon is one of cooler Gods of

the Greco-Roman pantheons, so I clicked on it.

• When reading about the worship of Poseidon, it brought up the sacrificial drowning of horses.

• It said that Alexander the Great did this in preparation of the battle of Issus.

• Alexander the Great was one of the most successful emperors in history.

• Alexander appear toy was incredibly charismatic, despite his lack of control with drink.

• After the the death of Hephaestion, he began showing signs of megalomania and paranoia.

• Me being the, psychology major that I will be, had to investigate into megalomania

• So megalomania is the psychopathological that is defined with, fantasies of power, omnipotence, and inflated self-esteem.

• It is also the the name for narcissistic personality disorder, prior to Kohut first using the term in 1968

• Personality disorders are fascinating so I clicked on NPD.

• Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), has an incredibly high comorbidity with other mental disorders.

• It is highly comorbid with, histrionic especially.

• I was vague on that one's characteristics, so I clicked it.

• Given the characteristics of the disorder I became curious.

• I figured there had to be a committee or something that sits down and decides, "Okay, what are we going to call people that are attention-seeking people that are vivacious and inappropriately seductive?"

• Following this train of though I searched around for the words, 'association', or 'organization', until I came upon the American Psychiatric Association

• It's the largest psychiatric organization in the world, with some 36,000 members.

• They are the people that are in charge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, (DSM), or as a friend of mine calls it "the Big Book of Stuff That's Wrong with People."

• I was curious about what it was specifically, so I did some digging.

• Apparently, there have been a great deal of criticism involved with the book.

• Including the belief, that due to the very design of the book, many of the 'signs and symptoms' can be considered superficial because they don't explain any of the reasoning behind the diagnosis.

• Despite this, there's been 5 editions, with top critic being the National Institute of Mental Health. This got me thinking about the NIMH.

• I was right. This is a fantastic version of the poem. It’s almost as good as the The Raven as read by James Earl Jones.
