    THE RAINBOW DAY

    OF MY LIFE

    1

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    2/32

One morning, after my husband left for work, I was

selecting the clothes to be hand-washed furthermore.

Among those clothes, there was a pair of trousers my

husband used to wear at office. As I'm very careful with

my husband's clothes, I was checking in the pockets if

there was anything left, and whatever I found was my

husband's labello lipstick and an important sum of

money! Nothing would have prevented me, from that

moment, how that precaution and sum of money would

be useful to me within a couple of hours!

The answer came when my husband put some pressure

upon me to have our little Coton de Tulear female puppy

consulted by a veterinary in emergency, because of an

incarnated nail, which my husband found into one of her

lovely small back legs. That incarnated nail was hurting

her a too much, causing the risk of some future infection.

I obtained the number of a veterinary who used to

consult at his place, situated at about twenty minutes

from my hometown, and who would save our little

puppy's life as he was well known in the country as it

comes for veterinary services. As I had no transportation

facilities, my husband already made the arrangements

with his father to fetch me and to drop me with our little

puppy to the veterinary, leaving the both of us there until

my husband would come back from office and fetch us

there before going back home! Arrangements were

already confirmed until my husband's colleague talked

about another good veterinary in this same farewell town

and another expatriated veterinary, who used to consult

near our home place. I also proposed to my husband that,

in case we could retrace the expatriated veterinary's

number, instead of keeping the appointment for that day,

we could arrange for taking the puppy the day after or

    4

during the weekend after, to avoid disturbing my father-

in-law due to his bad state of health due to some renal

complications hes been suffering from since long.

My husband was very angry at me and put much more

pressure upon me to maintain the appointment on that

day to the veterinary, elsewhere our puppy's state of

health would become worse. But to make sure about this

matter, he recommended me to ask for my father's

advice, as a General Physician. My father confirmed that

our puppy's state of health wasn't that much serious but

that it was really necessary to look after her as soon as

possible before her state of health would become worse!

    6

By the same way, my husband asked me the number of

the veterinary who consulted next to our home place. As

I didnt have his number, I then phoned our neighbour to

obtain his phone number, but my neighbour

unfortunately lost it! Nonetheless my neighbour obtained

from her son the name of another veterinary who used to

look after her three puppies and especially one of her

puppies who recently had babies ! But my neighbour's

veterinary said he couldn't look after our little puppy due

insufficient stock of anaesthesia, which would have been

necessary for our puppy's surgery to remove this nail.

Then, when I got informed about the other expatriated

veterinary, I was informed he resigned from his job, and

then I obtained the number of another veterinary who

    replaced him.

I was very hopeless, and had so much pressure and panic

upon my head that I felt stupid, and I lately thought

    7

    8/32

about asking my husband to ask his colleague if he had

    the expatriate veterinary's phone number!

    9/32

After having obtained the expatriate veterinary's number

and made the necessary arrangements to bring our puppy

there, my father-in-law came to fetch me with our little

puppy at the end of the afternoon and brought us there.

The expatriate veterinary was a very kind and intelligent

guy and who immediately detected our puppy's case,

followed by a very short intervention, some antibiotics

prescription and very cheap cost of consultation too! I

thought about having our puppys nail removed

definitely, so that she would never suffer again anymore.

But the veterinary said such surgery wouldn't be

necessary as our puppy was out of danger and that this

nail had to be cut regularly.

    9

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    10/32

When my father-in-law and I left with our puppy, we

bought the antibiotic and then my father-in-law dropped

me and the little puppy back home. As my neighbour

was outside with her daughter, they asked for our

puppy's state of health, and I was so happy and relieved

that our puppy was safe and sound that I kept on

laughing and smiling while relating to her how it

happened at the veterinary's. I even shared with her the

number of this veterinary, as I remembered how her son

lost it by giving it to his clients and never getting it back

from them again since they came to buy their little

    puppy's babies!

When I came inside, I took some time to meditate about

this hectic day and about the most important events

which took place and the lessons I've been learning from

    those events :

    11

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    12/32

    - Havent I thought about checking that important sum of

money I picked up from my husband's trousers pocket

before putting them to be hand washed, maybe my

father-in-law and I would have been stuck into some

traffic jam to look for an ATM before going to the

farewell veterinarys for an expensive consultation! And

among the important sum of money found in my

husbands pocket, the total sum spent for both

consultation and purchase of antibiotic was less than

what was in his pocket before!

    12

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    13/32

    - The number of phone numbers from all those

veterinaries, which made me realising that in such

moments of panic, I could nonetheless obtain some

important contact details, which may not have been

useful to me on that day in the exception of the

expatriated veterinary's one, but which could be useful to

me in case of emergency or in case the expatriated

veterinary would be very busy, sick or back to his native

    country furthermore!

    13

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    14/32

    - The intelligence, kind-hearted and human nature of the

expatriated veterinary, when he agreed to make all

further consultations for our puppy totally free, and who

even got our puppy's second consultation free too!

Another proof that in this cruel world, there are still

good people who stand for you somewhere somehow, in

such unexpected moments of your life, and whom you

    should always respect!

    14

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    15/32

    - The generosity and kindness of our neighbour, who

herself was in need as the contact number of that

expatriated veterinary was lost because of her son's

negligence, which forced her son to go to a farewell

veterinarys, whereas this expatriated veterinary would

have been their way of salute, especially due to the short

distance between his office and their place, and

    especially for some emergency cases!

    15

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    16/32

    - The principle of any good doctor, including

veterinaries, is to keep their patients properly, by helping

them saving their money and trust from the patients'

families. My father, as a doctor, taught me a principle

about the other veterinary whom our neighbour

consulted for his puppies, focussing on the lack of stock

of sedative, which made that he couldn't look after our

puppy: Any doctor, whatever his specialisation may be,

should always have all his stuffs in sufficient stock and

all his equipments always updated and perfectly

maintained, and that also applied as well for that

    veterinary.

I then understood that our neighbours, due to the

negligence of their son, had to call for the help of

    16

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    17/32

another veterinary who was perhaps fooling them since

ages and extracting lots of money from their pocket. By

giving them back the lost number of this expatriated

veterinary, maybe in some way I helped them into saving

money and kilometres by sending their puppies in the

neighbourhood in the hands of a great and kind-hearted

person, who maybe would have made the consultations

of their puppies free like he did for our puppy, and

would have allowed them to save more money for the

future to build other dreams with this saved money.

    - The power of the love between my husband, myself

and our puppy like parents and child, as we adopted her

    17

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    18/32

as our baby more than our pet, and that we brought her

so much love that a mother and a father would bring to

    their children.

    18

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    19/32

The power of the love for this adorable four-leg

companion my husband found in the streets as a stolen,

sick, thin and abandoned puppy that needed someone to

    love and care for her.

    19

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    20/32

The power of a love I learnt to give to this puppy, which

I refused to adopt in the beginning due to my fear for

dogs, but which touched my heart through her canine

    affection and support, especially when I was sad or sick;

a puppy which could understand better than any human

being the sorrow inside my heart and mind after so much

heavy burdens I had to bear in my mere existence and

which created such a deep sensation of sadness and

melancholy in my eyes, and which my puppy expressed

by always sleeping or sitting very close to my feet or by

my side to look for a moment of tenderness and hugs

with me to comfort me in some way.

    20

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    21/32

The power of our love for this puppy, which was

accentuated by how we missed loosing her forever, if we

didn't interfere in emergency once to bring her at a

veterinary to have her admitted under intensive care after

she drank some oil and missed dying, letting my husband

down in tears and myself full of regrets for not having

loved her enough nor accepting her enough in the past.

    21

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    22/32

    - Finally, the sadness I felt towards my father-in-law,

who took about twenty minutes to come at my place to

fetch me and our puppy, for finally bringing us at the

expatriated veterinary's who lived only... five minutes

away from my place, despite my father-in-law's bad state

of health due to his renal complications! And the fact

that my father-in-law helped me such kindly while the

expatriated veterinary was consulting and healing our

puppy! And how my father-in-law prepared his car with

so much care to make my trip and our puppy's trip so

much comfortable! I was feeling really, really guilty

towards him and thought how I have been so much

negligent with my lack of independence on the road,

though I already obtained my licence and only needed

practice, and that I could really make an effort of my

own to practice much more on the road until I can drive

any car and have my own car.

    23

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    24/32

From that hectic day rich in experiences and lessons, I

had the proofs that all those principles of life were true

    and meaningful :

    24

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    25/32

1)Always take prevention in every situation, in one hand

to avoid other useless difficulties, in another hand, to

avoid useless loss of time, and finally as those

preventions can get you rid of some other difficulties to

    come;

    25

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    26/32

    2) In such moments of unexpected difficulties, you may

sometimes find some sources, which may perhaps not all

be useful to you on the present moment, but who may be

    useful to you and to your neighbourhood;

    26

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    27/32

    3) True and sincere hearts are like precious stones, but

rare, so you should always take great care of them for

    never loosing them;

    27

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    28/32

    4) Even when you're in need, always offer your own help

in return to every helping hand coming to you, as those

helping hands are hands which in fact need help from

    others;

    28

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    29/32

    5) A true doctor should always have all his stuffs

complete and his equipments updated and perfectly

maintained, elsewhere he's not a doctor but a liar and a

    rogue!

    29

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    30/32

    6) A pet is your best companion through thick and thin

as it will be much more thankful, friendly and respectful

to you than a human being, as this pet will never ask you

    anything expensive in return except care and affection;

    30

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    31/32

    7) Self independence may avoid useless interventions

coming from busy people, though those people may help

    you with a good heart!

    31

  • 7/29/2019 The Rainbow Day of My Life

    32/32

As from now, if youve been living such a colourful

Rainbow Day at least once in your life, dont hesitate to

share it. Thats what I did. It takes both rain and

sunshine to make a rainbow. It takes both joy and sorrow

to make life truly beautiful and colourful. Have plenty of

Rainbow Days like that in life!
