    *We assume that younger students already start on university courses with IT skills. Our experience shows that this is not the case in up to 20 % of some nursing cohorts, as with other literacy issues, students manage to slip through the net, and have avoided interacting with IT. Some more mature students also struggle with IT, experience in practice shows that many healthcare workers have very negative feelings about their ability to interact with IT. Therefore the sooner that future health professionals are exposed to IT and need to interact the better.It is the invisible strand that runs alongside theory and practice modules.*
