The questions for the discussions at the table are:

1. What is the motivation/ambition in working with disabled people? 2. How can you combine financial and social value in this process? 3. What are the relevant factors that create value? 4. What are other succes factors? 5. What are positive and/or negative side effects?

1. To see an improvement in someone’s personal behavior, satisfaction and personal growth is our most outstanding reason for working with disabled people. One of our supportive employees in caretaking is such a good example. At first, the first days of his employment he was very shy and timid. Nowadays he is one of our most social, accountable colleges with a great sense of humor. By giving him the opportunity to empower his talents in a safe envi ronment we all encouraged his growth. At first he was so shy that he could hardly feel good being among other people. He is very grateful we have given him this chance. In a personal coaching program he stood up as a motivated open minded learner. He explored a new way of self-reflection and abandoned ineffective or unsatisfactory ways of behavior. 2. Due to the decrease of amount of students we are forced to reduce our expenses. The main costs are personal costs and accommodation costs. Reducing those costs is for the better for our education. That is an almost daily challenge. We have chosen to recruit for the caretaking positions members with an restriction for social reasons. A side effect is that those positions which we hire from Wedeo do cost less than hiring by our own. 3. Support and believe in their opportunities in a no judging environment. A distinctive effort can make the difference. 4. To make a significant difference you have to search for the talents one is equipped; find the right way to approach another one. Goal is a sustainable working relation in which parties can have a social and economic profit. A job coach from Wedeo helps us to choose the optimal approach and hands over talents and restrictions. On a regular basis we speak with each other about the hired team members. 5. A positive side effect is that we smile and feel happy when someone has improved himself.
