Initial Operating Capability Elements

Update Data Mechanism: Provide WMO Members with consolidated approach to updating all data represented in the CPDB, and developing a streamlined mechanism, building on the existing data update mechanisms.

Secure Software & Hardware Environment: Ensure that the software components of the CPDB are secure, working and that the required environment is available for their operation.

Operating Guidelines: Clarify the responsibilities for operating the CPDB. Provisions will be made for technical operations, administration, datasources, user support and editorial oversight.

Datasource Representation: Make sure that all data in the CPDB are shown in a way that is approved by the data owners (departments) and that the necessary mechanisms for exporting from the datasources to the CPDB are in place.

Survey Consolidation: Optimize the number of questionnaires sent to Members and enable a better use of available information in a more integrated manner. Use will be made of the Survey Monkey software platform. Integrate with CPDB approach – Start with Regional Surveys
