Nipa Shah Nipa Shah is one of Southeast Michigan’s leading marketing experts. She leverages her 20 year career at General Motors along with more than 10 years of successful entrepreneurship.

Nipa has embarked upon a new marketing mission, with the debut of a magazine, Michigan Be Healthy. As the publisher of this new sleek and glossy, 36-page magazine, Nipa covers health and wellness topics to enable people to live a healthier lifestyle.

Nipa is also founder and CEO of Jenesys Group, LLC, a marketing consultancy. Jenesys Group has designed and

programmed over 700 websites in the past nine years. Jenesys Group has also managed and executed digital marketing campaigns for over 300 clients.

Nip also functions as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for various companies, small and large. As an independent CMO consultant, she creates and executives marketing strategies and plans including digital marketing, traditional marketing, “creating a buzz,” streamlining marketing spend, and “making a website work” for her clients. A pioneer in the online space, Nipa created one of the first social media execution campaigns in the Michigan market. Authentic, engaging and authoritative, Nipa is a leading voice for implementing 360 degree marketing and web strategies that have a direct impact on the bottom-line.

Women leaders are made, not born. And that’s the topic of her keynote address. Nipa is a perfect example of this because Nipa came to the US from India when she was 22, newly married in an arranged marriage, and armed with a bachelor’s degree. The only saving grace was she knew how to speak English fluently, having been educated in a convent school and where speaking poor English could get your knuckles rapped with a ruler. Today, 27 years later, Nipa is considered a woman leader in the local Michigan business community and in the South Asian community. She talks about passion, believe, ability to stand up and speak up, and other traits which make women leaders. She is frequently invited to speak at leadership conferences focusing on women and their careers. Her keynote is meant to motivate and energize participations. Women who have heard her have said, “you motivated me”, “you were real”, and “I am going to immediately begin doing what I should be doing after listening to your speech.”

Diversity is the multiplicity of people, cultures and ideas that contribute to the richness and variety of life. Diversity broadly encompasses the mixture of similarities and differences along several dimensions and includes, but is not limited to: race, national origin, ability, disability, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, and gender identity. It includes values, cultures, concepts, learning styles and perceptions that individuals possess. By its very nature, diversity fosters inclusiveness, encourages the exchange of new ideas, improves decision-making, and broadens the scope of problem solving. Where diversity exists, there is indeed an enriched environment.

Diversity is about creating an equitable, hospitable, appreciative, safe and inclusive workplace environment - one that embraces the full spectrum of all members' contributions. The Oakland County Employment Diversity Council is committed to providing information, education and learning opportunities to support a diverse workforce in Oakland County.
