2016 Board of Directors
Be a part of a dynamic organization by serving on the REMC board of directors. Deadline for petition is 4 p.m., Jan. 9, 2017.
If you want to be a part of a company that is commit-ted to community and the people who live there, consider serving on the REMC board of directors. This is a great way to be part of an organization that cares about their neighbors and works to make a positive contribution in so many ways.
In 2017, REMC members will elect board members rep-resenting District 3, 6 and 7. District 3 represents Monroe and Wood townships in Clark County and Polk Township in Washington County. District 6 represents Silver Creek Township in Clark County. District 7 represents Utica and Jeffersonville townships in Clark County.
Any eligible person who wishes to run for the board of directors (including an incumbent director) must be nomi-nated by way of a written petition signed by a minimum of 15 members. The petition may only be signed by members.
The board of directors for Clark County REMC is the legal body which both the member and the government hold accountable for the actions of the organization. The REMC board of directors is not unlike other organizations or businesses. The men and women elected to serve are dedicated people who have the interests of all members of the organization at heart.
Give back to your community by serving on the REMC board of directorsThe board of directors has many functions and responsibilities:• Managing the general business administration and affairs
of the REMC; • Employing a general manager to direct the operation of
the REMC; • Considering and adopting short and long range plans; • Establishing and maintaining legal entities; • Setting rate and fee schedules for service; • Reporting to the member-owners on the financial
condition of the REMC; • Establishing controls that it uses in appraising the
effectiveness of the operations.
In order to be selected as a candidate, an individual must have been a member of the REMC for at least the last 12 months. Upon being nominated, these individuals are then voted on by the members at the annual meeting scheduled for April 8, 2017.
How to become a director candidateInterested members may become director candidates by
submitting a petition signed by 15 members. This petition must be submitted to the REMC by 4 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2017.
Every year Touchstone Energy Camp provides a fun and unique experience designed for students entering seventh grade in 2017 to attend a trip to Camp Tecumseh YMCA Outdoor Center.

Clark County REMC Mission StatementClark County REMC, incorporated in 1939, is a member-owned electric cooperative providing service to members living in Clark, Floyd, Scott, Jefferson and Washington counties in southern Indiana. Our mission is to efficiently deliver safe, reliable electric service to our members.
How does the weather affect my electric bill?To portray an accurate picture of how the temperature relates to our comfort level, the National Weather Service uses “degree days” to define the margin between the actual temperature and a baseline of 65, which would be considered comfortable with no heating or cooling devices needed.
Degree days for October:2015 2016 Normal (base of 65) 207 194 254 This comparison shows that October 2016 had 13 fewer degree days than October 2015 and 60 fewer degree days than the National Weather Service defined as “normal” weather conditions.
Amanda Koerber is Working For You. As the Operations Dispatcher, Amanda has been with Clark County REMC for five years. When asked what she enjoys most about her job, she stated, “The best part for me is being able to provide help and assistance to the members. It brings a smile to my face when I can hear via
phone that I have made a difference in that member’s day.”Amanda was born in Lexington, raised in Mt. Sterling, KY, until she
moved to southern Indiana as a teenager. She enjoyed this community so much that she decided to make this her home. Amanda recently married Jason Koerber in October of this year. She has a daughter, Whitney; a step-daughter, Kylee and a granddaughter, Olivia who is one-year old. They also have a nine-year old cat named Max.
In their spare time, Amanda and Jason enjoy going to car shows, tak-ing their 1932 Ford Roadster street rod for long drives, as well as hunting and fishing together. They are looking forward to their upcoming fishing trip to Grenada Lake in Mississippi. Recently, Amanda and Jason trav-eled to Nashville, TN where they got to celebrate the 91st birthday of the Grand Ole Opry. Tennessee has always held a special place in Amanda’s heart and going to this celebration was an amazing experience for them. They enjoy being surrounded by all of the history at the Grand Ole Opry and Nashville.
Her hobbies include making floral arrangements and working in the yard during the spring and fall. The fall season is her favorite time of year. She enjoys the weather, the colors of the season and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Amanda works hard to make sure that the Operations department is scheduled and prepared for each work day. Her background, knowledge and helpful attitude make her a valuable member of the REMC team. We hope that you enjoy getting to know the employees of Clark County REMC and remember that Amanda Koerber is Working For You.
