The Power of Prayer

“God hates divorce”

Malachi 2:16

“Indeed, the LORD God of Israel says that he hates divorce…

BUT there’s more to it:

• …along with the one who conceals his violence by outward appearances.”

• New International Version "The man who hates and divorces his wife, …does violence to the one he should protect,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

• New Living Translation ”’To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,’ says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.”

• New American Standard Bible …and him who covers his garment with wrong,’ says the LORD of Hosts.”

• Holman Christian Standard Bible …he covers his garment with injustice,’ says the LORD of Hosts.”

• NET Bible …and the one who is guilty of violence,’ says the LORD who rules over all.”

• GOD'S WORD® Translation ‘I hate the person who covers himself with violence,’ says the LORD of Armies.”

• American King James Version …for one covers violence with his garment, said the LORD of hosts”.

• English Revised Version …and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith the LORD of hosts”.

And it actually ends with this:

…So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

God’s talking to US!• He defends the cause of the fatherless & the widow, & loves the foreigner

residing among you, giving them food & clothing. Deuteronomy 10:18

• Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!  Deuteronomy 27:19

• This is what the Lord says: Do what is just & right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, & do not shed innocent blood in this place. Jeremiah 22:3

• But you are the God of the lowly, helper of the oppressed, upholder of the weak, protector of the forsaken, savior of those without hope. Judith 9:11

• I am here to help those who are humble and depend only on me. Isaiah 57:15

• My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken & contrite heart you, God, will not despise. Psalm 51:17

This World vs. God’s Realm

• Why do you take everyday complaints to judges who are not respected by the church? Corinthians 6:4

• Without guidance from God, law and order disappear. Proverbs 29:18

• When the Lord noticed that justice had disappeared, he became very displeased. It disgusted him even more to learn that no one would do a thing about it. Isaiah 59:15-16

• Don’t be afraid of people. They can kill you, but they cannot harm your soul. Matthew 10:28

• You followed the ways of this world and obeyed the devil. He rules the world, and his spirit has power over everyone who doesn’t obey God. Ephesians 2:2

Comfort & Console

• Psalm 23

• The Beatitudes

• The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. Wisdom 3:1

• There are six or seven kinds of people the Lord doesn’t like: Those who are too proud or tell lies or murder, those who make evil plans or are quick to do wrong, those who tell lies in court or stir up trouble in a family. Proverbs 6:16-19

• Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown. Revelation 2:10

What To Do With Our Enemies

• Dear friends, don’t try to get even. Let God take revenge. In the Scriptures the Lord says, “I am the one to take revenge and pay them back.” The Scriptures also say, “If your enemies are hungry, give them something to eat. And if they are thirsty, give them something to drink. This will be the same as piling burning coals on their heads.” Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good. Romans 12:19-21

• Don’t you know that evil people won’t have a share in the blessings of God’s kingdom? Don’t fool yourselves! No one who is immoral or worships idols or is unfaithful in marriage or is a pervert or behaves like a homosexual will share in God’s kingdom. Neither will any thief or greedy person or drunkard or anyone who curses and cheats others. Corinthians 6:9-10

• Love your enemies, and be good to everyone who hates you. Ask God to bless anyone who curses you, and pray for everyone who is cruel to you. Luke 6:27-28

The Miraculous Medal

In the year 1830, the Blessed Mother appeared to a nun in France and showed her a vision of our Lady standing on a globe with her arms outstretched with dazzling rays of light streaming from her fingers. Framing the figure was the inscription O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Mary instructed the nun to “Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck.” The medal created from this vision is called the Miraculous Medal.

There is no superstition, nothing of magic, connected with the Miraculous Medal - it is not a “good-luck charm”. Rather, it is a great testimony to faith and the power of trusting prayer. Its greatest miracles are those of patience, forgiveness, repentance, and faith. God uses a Medal, not as a sacrament, but as an agent, an instrument, in bringing to pass certain marvelous results. “The weak things of this earth hath God chosen to confound the strong.”

Miracles DO Happen!

Ehhh, I think that's a little too much for me... But, now that you mention it, I actually was going to ask if I could come back for while. As in like, kinda move back until I can get a better direction. Not like, immediately, but my roommate is going to Canada for his last year of school. And I'm super happy for him and all, but I finally kinda took a look back and realized that no matter how I've tried to move forward, it hasn't been working. Like, no matter what sort of plan I come up with, something always goes wrong. Anyways, our lease is going to be up in September, he'll be gone, my debt to income ratio makes my credit not very useful, and usually apartments ask for proof that you make 2.5 to 3 times the rent anyhow. And I know for our rent, which wasn't bad for a 2 bedroom, I haven't made 2.5 to 3 times it in any given month like, ever.

So I was thinking if I can't go forward, why not see if I can go back? I mean, it wouldn't be impossible for me to stay in Colorado, but my options aren't ones that would push me forward in life either. So yah, just wanna hear what you think on that...
