Genesis 39:6-12
GENESIS 39
6 Thus he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and he did notknow what he had except for the bread which he ate. NowJoseph was handsome in form and appearance.
7 And it came to pass after these things that his master's wifecast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me."
8 But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Look, mymaster does not know what is with me in the house, and hehas committed all that he has to my hand.
9 "There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he keptback anything from me but you, because you are his wife. Howthen can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"

10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.
11 But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside,
12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, "Lie with me." But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.

FOR THE GLORY OF GOD

SHE WANTED TO EXPLOIT WHAT WAS GIVEN HIM FOR THE GLORY OF GOD

SHE INSISTED DAY BY DAY BUT JOSEPH CONTINUED TO SAY
NO! NO!! NO!!!
10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.

SHE INSISTED IN HER DESIRE TO SIN WITH HIM BUT HE INSISTED IN HIS COMMITMENT NOT TO SIN.

THE FEAR OF GOD GIVES
THE POWER TO SAY NO!
“How then can I do this great wickedness, and sinagainst God?"

4 Unstable as water, you shall nothave pre-eminence because youwent up to your father's bed; thenyou defiled it--you went up to mycouch!
JOSEPH WAS BLESSED
22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a spring; his branchesrun over the wall.23 The archers fiercely attacked him, shot at him, and harassed himsorely;24 yet his bow remained unmoved, his arms were made agile by thehands of the Mighty One of Jacob (by the name of the Shepherd, theRock of Israel),25 by the God of your father who will help you, by God Almighty whowill bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep thatcouches beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.26 The blessings of your father are mighty beyond the blessings of theeternal mountains, the bounties of the everlasting hills; may they be onthe head of Joseph, and on the brow of him who was separate from hisbrothers.
